Hi guys, I just went to MapleNews and well I saw something pretty.....well....strange to say the least. Please note that some of this information MIGHT BE FALSE:

"There is many confusions and worrying going around about Maplestory2 and EverPlanet. Some rumors are real some are fake. Is EverPlanet just a copy of Maplestory or Maplestory2?

Maplestory in 3D hmmmm…have you ever wondered? Well if you have, wait till you see EverPlanet. EverPlanet is developed by NCLIPSE and published by Nexon. Everplanet is currently in closed beta for Korea. Ever since the game was released in closed beta, lot’s of people have been saying that it’s too much like Maplestory or “This is Maplestory2″. These rumors can go on forever, but which ones are true and which ones are false? From my sources, EverPlanet is it’s individual game, but why does it look so much like Maplestory? Mazefind on Youtube has said: “Nclipse (EverPlanet dev.) is made up [of] staff who take part in the Crazy Arcade, KR, FIFA Online, and MapleStory. [The] art style of EverPlanet seems like MapleStory, but MapleStory ≠ EverPlanet “. So… confusing isn’t it? Why did Nexon give the name as “EverPlanet” and not “Maplestory2″, or actually announcing that their will actually be a Maplestory 3D version. Stephen from MapleTip said: “As evident from the previous post about Everplanet, MapleStory 2 will be coming out as announced by Nexon America.

Beginning sometime in May (close to MapleStory’s anniversary), all players will be moved to MapleStory 2 and players will be able to experience a whole new gaming experience, in 3D!

All players will be able to keep their equipment, guilds, levels, pets, and so on. New features include a higher level cap and an ability to have a larger buddy list. Thanks to Nexon’s business model, there will not be a fee to play for the game, but as always, you will have to buy from the cash shop to get anywhere.

MapleStory classic will remain for a couple more months to allow players to transition to the new game. Nexon expects a full transfer by August.” Now, this made me run back through my thoughts…Maplestory2 for real? How could this be? Is Nexon actually making EverPlanet a Maplestory in 3D, and are they changing transfer all the Maplestory accounts to EverPlanet, and do you think this is going to happen in only KMS? Leave comments as answers below."

Myself personally thinks that this is a total bunch of bs. I think most people would quit if this change occured, and it would hurt Nexon too. Feel free to post your opinions.

I'd quit if they made it 3D.

By that, I mean 3D move, non-retro style. However, if it's still 2D gameplay, but with 3D graphics, I will have some respect for Nexon, as not only would that be a HUGE change, (Seemingly hard to do it used to be.) but it'd be the 3rd awesome patch in a row.

Failplanet fails, MS in 2D with 3D graphics wins.

MapleStory 2 is just gonna be a huge bunch of updates. That 3D one is probably another game, they could name it MapleStory 2. But they're definitely not gonna remove the current 2-D version. Come on, do you know how much stuff they'll have to make 3-D for that change?!?!

I watched a few of those. That IS fail.

But then I noticed something. It reminded me of the new dungeon & fighter game coming out. First off, the UI is the same almost, and then bowmen can jump shoot and move and shoot? But what convinced me that it wasn't ms2, was that the mage had all types of magic. Ice and fire aren't a combined class.
Remember? Dungeon and figher will feature basically some of the same generic classes.

EverPlanet IS real. But it has nothing to do with MapleStory. At all. It is just being published by Nexon.

But I really love all of these 2.5-D games. If that MapleStory 2 trailer is an actual game (not saying it's MS2, but rather, just a game that people are calling MS2) then it looks pretty sexy. They remind of Paper Mario which is the greatest franchise of ever.

Wow. This thread made me lulz.

There is information about this in other threads.

You can easily find out that Ever Planet is its own game, not MapleStory 2.

The only reason it looks like Maple Story is because they are both Nexon Games.

There is no such thing as MapleStory 2, it isn't even being planned. They are still focused on Maple Story.

If ANYTHING would come up about Maple Story 2, it would be from Nexon Korea, and everything would be in Korean.

No, Mario on his own is terrible. Only the Mario RPG games hold up. Paper Mario, The Thousand Year Door, Super Paper Mario, Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga, Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time, Mario and Luigi RPG 3!!! and Legend of The Seven Stars. All other Mario games aren't worth mentioning.
