They patched the dc hack during those few hours so you shouldn't have to worry about it for the next while until someone else finds a way to dc people.

The spam dc one wasn't fixed, though.

And, you shouldn't have "thought" what the SC yesterday was "supposed" to do, because it was never told what it was going to do. You can't just assume something without evidence.

Six hours to apply patches to up to 88 (((19*6)+(13*4))/2) servers and you whine?

2 channels per server? O_O

Yes.
Here's Scania for example:
 Scania Server Layout

Note that it's 10 IPs, 9 of which use two different ports with a dedicated server for CH1. They all follow this same schema, so the reduced worlds occupy 7 IPs 6 dual, and 1 dedicated. The more complete servers occupy 10, 9 dual and 1 dedicated. This actually makes the math more accuractely expressed as (6*10) + (4*7) = 88 since the /2 would produce inaccuracies when El Nido is added in.

You can have multiple IPs per physical box, but there's not much point for the layout they're using if they're all on the same machines, unless it's to partition by having multiple copies of the server daemon running on the same box but answering to different IPs. That's unlikely though, since it's a rather convoluted way to cluster.
