Holy crap. The idea is amazingly full of win. Annoyed by the 10 episodes it took to show Goku beating Frieza? Now it will only take one (as an example). Didn't like all the filler? Done. Hated the Buu saga taking almost 100 episodes? It'll now only take a fraction of that.

I didn't mind all the filler, but I know a lot of people poked fun at how long it took for the Dragon Ball Z anime to transition from one story to another. In all seriousness it's only 26 volumes, and the anime makes it feel like 40-50 volumes. Yu Yu Hakusho only had 112 episodes with 19 volumes of material, so you can imagine the massive trimming down that will be done to 276 episodes of 26 volumes of material.

Are they still on Namek?!

But the best part of Z was watching them charge their power levels for 10 minutes on end D:

Goggleemoticon I see what you did there.

Nope. Cell is now Perfect and is about to start the Cell Games. In 2 episodes we get to see Super Saiyan 2 in action.

Epic.

It's a good idea, but I'm not sure about a guaranteed 'good' execution.

I've only seen one episode of DBZ.

How does that make you feel?

Meh. As long as you know the gist of the story, there's no real difference except the agonizing pain we went through watching episode upon episode of power charging.

Read the manga. Things go so fast compared to the anime you'd think you're not even reading Dragon Ball Z.

I remember watching it when I was 8.. I can't wait now to relive my memories and see the changes. Will they show the "Over 9000" scene?!

If this comes to English, I hope they get Sean Schemel to do the voice of Goku. He did the best job, IMO.

It could be because I grew up watching Cantonese dubbbed DBZ, but I liked the Cantonese dubbed Goku a little more than the English one.

I'd say Kirby Morrow did a better job, not that there's a huge difference. God, the Funimation dub is fucking horrible.

Just the fact they changed the background music ruined it. Compared to the original Japanese version, it's downright awful; lack of blood/swearing/censoring/changed content = sadface. There were a few good English DBZ music, but not enough to make up for it (best one I can think of is the music played when Goku regained his strength and launched back his planet Genki Dama at Kid Buu, like here. I also give credit to the Cartoon Network DBZ opening):

Yeah, they are. I just wish they didn't use a woman for Goku, Vegeta, etc. It's really annoying. Hothead

Over 9000!!!! is in Episode 12. However its the original HASSEN IJOU DA! (Over 8000).

I've just bought Funimations Uncut Dub of DBZ and I don't mind it. they redubbed it, which makes me sad there is no over 9000... But aside from that its not bad. I'd watch kai if it came to the us, 3 season would be better then 35 LOL!

Also has original opening and close and music for the show!

Me and my friends were talking about this, I kinda enjoyed the longer storyline to be honest, I like long animes for some reason.

But the story being shortened may take out some useless stuff that wasnt really necessary in the first place =.=
