IGN Article - MapleStory Diary #1 - Chameleonic - 2009-03-10 :f6: http://au.pc.ign.com/articles/960/960334p1.html IGN Article - MapleStory Diary #1 - Phoenix - 2009-03-10 Seems like Margana was on the bottom in their tests...that could of made it all much harder than it is for us. Also looks like the Test server Rellik's poison only did 30 dmg. It seems like they wanted a hard boss, that didn't take 3 Hours to kill..meh. They had the right idea. I mean Rellik's 1/1+poison, Maragana's zombify both can kill anyone who's unaware of it. It's too bad anyone actually capable of killing the boss, is also capable of organizing themselves. (Or is that a good thing =O) IGN Article - MapleStory Diary #1 - xLeviathan - 2009-03-10 So Maplestory would be the 11th biggest country in the world. Amusing. Especially when you start talking about the government.
IGN Article - MapleStory Diary #1 - Wiire - 2009-03-10 IGN Wrote:and an average rating of 9.2 out of 10 by IGN's very own readers Check the reader reviews. Seems pretty fake to me. IGN Article - MapleStory Diary #1 - Kirov - 2009-03-10 Quote:And as a bonus, we wanted to make the gameplay a little easier overall.lol Seriously who wants the gameplay easier? Mapplestory isn't a challenging game to begin with. Quote:Our original plan was to have two... too easy. Four was much more interesting - one per class, with player-mimicked and extra abilities If they got their hands on Pirates earlier maybe it could have been a 5 way fight. ![]() I like how they attempt to black out the igns on the screenshots they posted on their website yet just hand over uncovered ones to IGN. IGN Article - MapleStory Diary #1 - Phoenix - 2009-03-10 Lol like..StupidJerk the Corsair? IGN Article - MapleStory Diary #1 - Sivrat - 2009-03-10 anyone else say wtp at this SS? http://au.media.pc.ign.com/media/711/711551/img_6531420.html The person in it, is using guan yu polearm, the person who took it isnt in it. Although i guess thats the "hide" ability GMs have, only its not a GM. Unless they gave all the testers that... And why would you hide in mid boss fight...] EDIT: Also, StupidJerk is a level 121 MARAUDER... not buccaneer... wtp? IGN Article - MapleStory Diary #1 - Combattente - 2009-03-10 Very, very misleading article. IGN Wrote:"Most of these are cosmetic, such as devil horns or angel wings, pets to pal around with, hairstyles and clothes. Players can mix and match to produce any look, and creativity is encouraged. We have five classes in the game - Warrior, Thief, Mage, Bowman and Pirate - all with at least two sub-classes. We also have guilds, weddings, solo and party quests, and the most fearsome and funny monsters found in any game. And don't forget - all of this is free. Not a bad deal, huh?" Lol, since when is NX free? IGN Wrote:"So, when it came time to build our Nexon America's unique space in the MapleWorld, our players wanted a theme park. We wanted the freedom to explore different types of gameplay and to create a central story that could be extended through new updates. Makes it sound like New Leaf City IS the famous "Cody's Theme Park". I hope this isn't the case. IGN Article - MapleStory Diary #1 - ChaosCorpse - 2009-03-10 Sivrat Wrote:anyone else say wtp at this SS? http://au.media.pc.ign.com/media/711/711551/img_6531420.html Generally speaking, Testers are always given debug abilities up until late Beta and Final stages of testing. Since new Revs (or revisions) come out fairly often, it makes it easier to double check all formerly existing bugs by jumping directly to that point. Then again, this is coming from someone who's tested for someone else that produced primarily for console titles. But I wouldn't see it as surprising to have GM modified characters to run through things. IGN Article - MapleStory Diary #1 - DrRusty - 2009-03-10 "we introduced a few new monsters with valuable equipment drops on new maps. But, we made sure these locations had a caveat; the high reward would come at a high risk." .......................... ![]() high risk my ass http://au.media.pc.ign.com/media/711/711551/img_6531423.html Did that bowmen just get 1/1'd for almost 32k dmg? IGN Article - MapleStory Diary #1 - Stereo - 2009-03-10 Quote:We had noticed that a number of our users had issues at the higher levels. Potions had grown too costly for many to continue.Except NLC was introduced before 4th job, and they didn't exactly test the cost of mage ultimates. If you can pick up 10-15mil/hr leeching, it should cost most of that in pot burn. >_> IGN Article - MapleStory Diary #1 - Takebacker - 2009-03-10 DrRusty Wrote:"we introduced a few new monsters with valuable equipment drops on new maps. Don't cut them off. >_> Nexon Wrote:We new some of these places would be challenging to navigate at first, but once people adapted, we were confident the innovations would be highly regarded. After testing with different strategies, any boss is easy. As for hide, being in hide makes it so you can't take any damage. IGN Article - MapleStory Diary #1 - QSCX - 2009-03-10 So New Leaf City is the theme park that we've been waiting for for so long? How does it resemble a theme park? Damn it, Cody. IGN Article - MapleStory Diary #1 - Lozmaster - 2009-03-10 DrRusty Wrote:" If it wasn't for certain people extracting the data and letting us all know what the damn bosses do, how much damage they can do, which statuses they can give, which leads to usknowing exactly which ing order to kill them in, which are the most dangerous, that bishops can't use heal until whoever it is with zombify is dead, then yes, it would have been high risk, but how many games are a challenge when you have the strategy guide (extractions giving every last bit of information in maple) in front of you? Virtually none
