Below the MP Limit? - GameMX - 2009-03-02

I seem to have miscalculated, or not have understand something here, but apparently I went below my minimal MP as a Shadower?

From the thread Your Guide to HP and MP, I used the formula to Blood Wash.

My level is 139, so then...

(139 * 14) + 148

Would be 2094. But when I remove all my equips, it goes down to 2085.

With equips (Giving MP):

Without equips (Giving MP):

Only 3 of my equips give me MP
 Spoiler

Anyone know whats the deal with this, or am I just missing something...Pineapple

-laughs at all the "wb lulu's" in the chat. Me and Amy do that all the time. =P

You are below the MP "Limit" because that's just the average. It's not exact. There is a range of the MP increases you can have per level. It's like 12-16 per level, average being 14. You aren't below on anything.

Quote:An asterisk (*) indicates more samples needed.

1st job advance HP: 100-150
*1st job advance MP: 25-50
Minimum HP: Level*20+78
Minimum MP: Level*14-3

It's not perfect.

@Above. No. That's not the average minimum MP per level. It's the absolute minimum MP. It should be impossible to have less MP than that minimum MP, given that the initial variables are correct. They clearly are not. The least MP an Archer/Thief can gain per level up is 14, not 12.

Ahhh. Nevermind then. -Facepalm again- Second facepalm moment today. Frown

It's the 1st job MP then!

Edit: Also the second job MP too.

I don't know exactly how 14*level+148 (it's 147 from what I remember) turned into the minimum MP formula, but that's not quite correct. The way I learned it is that it's the formula for the minimum MP you can have and still wash.

So lets say you're level 100. The formula would spit out the number 1548. What that means is that if you have 1548 or higher MP, you CAN HP wash: meaning you can put a point in HP, and then take a point out of MP to put it back into your main stat. So if you have 1545 MP, you cannot wash until you go back above the formula.

i.e. The least MP you can have. You can't have less MP than your minimum MP. Hence, the minimum. Obviously, the game generates this minimum in some way. It's not arbitrary.

Well, from what Kaida says, 14*level+148 yields the amount of MP you can have and still be able to take out a point from it, i.e. absolute minimum + 10. The actual minimum is 14*level+138, but that's not a useful number to know.

The meaning of 'minimum MP' should be clarified in the thread.

^this.

Actually, from my experience, the formula is 14*level+147 and you can still wash. And since we (Archers and Thieves) lose 12 MP per point taken out, the minimum achievable MP should be 14*level+135.

Question, did he already wash some MP out? Cause I go below the minimum MP all the time when I wash and just wait till it builds back up enough to take out 3 more points or so. The +148 formula has been accurate for me so far. But if you have 1 point above minimum you can wash which puts you 11 points below...Rolleyes

Not only is this necro-posting, but you're restating what's already been said.
