Already knew this, but It's a very nice simple explanation of how things went down.
It's very easy to see why free market (capitalism) is a fail idea. Let companies and private investors do what they want, and things are going to blow up in everyone's face. Rush Limf@g likes to preech about "not letting the government get in the way of the american dream". Sorry buddy, but private investors are the ones holding the american dream in front of everyone, they chase after it, and now that quick buck has faded away. good goin.
Who do I trust with my money? Banks or the Government?
Only have one thing to say about that..... The government won't waste money on lavish vacations, private jets, golden swans in the lobby, and overpaying fat cats.

Very beautiful explanation. It definitely cleared up questions I had about how mortgages have screwed us over. And yes, WTB government intervention so this doesn't happen again. It happened once in the form of the stock market crash, and another time where people though it was worth investing all their money into copper (can't remember the year, but it was before the 1930s).
