Class Optimization Quest - ChaosCorpse - 2009-02-18 A while ago, I was in a thread (that I can't remember at the moment) and someone had mentioned that NEXON should make a quest for archers and thieves that would give them an extra 1000 hp permanently. I thought about it for a while, battling between the whole concept that we are hard to survive makes us who we are and the sheer difficulty of said quest in order to gain such a thing, and eventually thought of a few other things to give other classes in an equivalent reward. Bowmen: 1000 Passive added HP Thieves: 1000 Passive added HP OR 30%-40% deduction loss of mesos when using Meso Guard Mages: Spell Final Attack (Usable only with single directional spells) Warriors: 10 Passive added Speed or 10 Passive added Acc Pirates: ... I got nothing, help me out with this one. Cygnus: They wouldn't reach the level needed to do the quest anyway, so they don't get to do it. I know I haven't played all classes yet, so I don't know if these are fair assumptions for balanced rewards, however I believe I've touched on issues that people have complained about here. As for the quest needed to do it to make these a fair reward, I believe it should be something not everyone can complete and something that would be impossible unless you had 3x Max meso in order to leech/buy. As such, I believe it should be like this. Quest Requirement: Level 140, All Palpatus, Pianus, Magaita, and Master Monster related quests completed. Quest Details: Collect 100 Drops from every area in MS that is not version exclusive or part of the world tour. These drops would drop from all monsters at the same rate that dragon scales/spirits drop and would be visible even when the quest is inactive (so that you can start collecting when you start playing MS). It would be something of a long term goal rather than, "oh, I'll just go buy that or apple to kill that" and when accompanied with the release of the monster book, just might give people of the higher levels something that could change their mindset of the current tasks of maple (currently Kill, Grind, Outdmg player X). These are just a couple of ideas put together and honestly the initial idea was not my own, but I still felt like throwing it out there. Class Optimization Quest - Deviant - 2009-02-18 This seems like its ripping the pros/cons of classes apart though, Warriors and bandits and such have higher HP because they're often in the monster's face. If the ranged classes can take a hit, then other classes like Shadowers and Paladins and such should be able ot keep up with damage of say, Night lords. The quest idea is great, but theres a lot more balancing that'd need to be done still =\ |
