Low-Stat builds will all win? - Chompy - 2009-02-01
Can you guys get a me a list of all common equips that have multiple stat boosts?
So far I have:
Zhelm 15+ Lvl req 50
Shroud of Zakum 3+ Lvl req 120 (also has 7 slots so its not a garbagefest)
HT pendant: 7+ / 22+ /52+ Lvl req 120 (I've SEEN SS's~!)
Aura Ring: 1+ x4 Lvl req 0
Black Belt 5 + (thanks Shinryuji) Lvl req 75
Silver Medal ???: +3 to all stats (thanks Stereo) unknown reqs
Total so far: 72+ to all stats + maker skill stats
(ALSO +5 to secondary and Primary stat per- equip you forge with Maker skill. Obviously this won't be used all the time since some equips will have preferred slots (more important stuff) and some equips will be common class.)
I know medals do as well and if there are any permanent other equips please list them and their stats-
But what are those stat boosts for the permanent ones (like NOT the gold medals since they are stolen away)
..
I want to see if 2ndary stats will eventually be totally wiped away.

The quest Medal is STR/DEX/INT/LUK +2, 10 Avoid, and 10 Jump
Also, regarding the Donation medals, if someone donates more than you in the town, you donated in, do you lose the medal?

The wrath of el nath cape doesn't give any stat boosts last I heard, if you have anything to prove it, please share, but I thought it was just a cape with 7 slots, in which case you should never be considering it anyway, L> Pink / purple adventurer capes, or at the very least the 8 slot YAC.

The BOss slayer pendants are moved depending on the newest player who has them.
So they are not reliable-
At least according to Issac.

theres some other stuff also, such as deputy star, but some of these are out done by later lvl equips.

Shroud of zakum is still pretty eh unless you are a mage then, I can't think of any good reason I would use even a 3 attack pink cape (at best with 2 30% on it, the cape would have + 12 stats) and 3 attack is better than 12 stats.

True.
But with 7 slots you could try for 5 30s and 2 60s. Which would be 22+ to the main stat.

wrath of el nath is 100hp, 100mp, 48 m.def (highest on a cape in the game atm, if im not mistaken), and 43 w.def.
it also has seven slots. considering i made one for HT, and am planning on using it, AND AM HOLDING IT with +140hp and 2 slots, i'd say it does give bonuses other than just 7 slots.

What's the concrete definition for normal-stat anyways?
I have a hard time believing that there are more than a couple people out there with stats where auto-assign wants them to be.

You make a good point.
I don't actually mean no/low stat builds. I mean there will be archers who put 5 points into STR at all scroll their cape for STR scroll the rest for DEX and wear their Metus or W/E.
The idea being NORMAL stat builds that are planned correctly will have almost no points pumped into secondary stats due to common equips filling that void.

Like how I am making a Pure Luk Dit that will convert to STR Dit after i get my common equips.
Everyone will do that for their characters since something like No/Low builds will be dumb (wasting 50-71 [20-25 more for Brawlers and thieves]free ap) points).

I don't know about going away completely... Some of these equips, and their lower-level counterparts are either found through lots of questing, or are rare finds in the FM, usually for several million mesos. Some players starting fresh, or those who choose not to use gachapon to earn starting cash, or heck even those like me who are just cheap will have a hard time getting those "perfect" equips.
I have no problem with no or low-stat builds, but I do like the more conventional builds as well, so long as there continue to be incentives. Like, rather than releasing these new statless weapons, it'd be nice to occasionally see a new tantalizing tidbit with a secondary stat requirement to compete with the statless. I suppose using Ribgol vs. Berserker at lvl 100 on a Sader/White Knight is an example that comes to mind, but then again it's probably not that hard to drum up 120 DEX at lvl 100.

In the future players will be able to wear a Rigbol with 4 base dex and the common equips they wear.
And Somewear between Earrings and scrolling your zhelm (or anything that can't be scrolled for STR) you'll get your secondary stat met.
Which is ridiculous. But true.

Why the future?
22 pendant
+ 33 helm
+ 30 overall
+ 12 earring
+ 12 shoes
+ 7 face equip
= 116 dex from gear. All these items exist already (and as common items)
