Will this computer ever be able to Zakum? - Greg22 - 2009-01-28 Sup Southperry. I'm Mapling on a seven-year-old Dell computer. It's a piece of garbage. I've NEVER reformatted. I've NEVER defragged (Though I'm doing my first defragmentation as I'm typing this). Basically, I'm hoping that by reformatting and defragging, I might have a shot at being able to Zakum. I don't know much about computer specs/what's important/etc, so here's what I can give you wonderful people. NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 with AGP8X Intel® Pentium® 4 CPU 2.80 GHz 512MB RAM I DUNNO WHAT OTHER INFORMATION WOULD BE NEEDED, BUT THE BOTTOM LINE IS THIS COMPUTER IS BULLSHI(T AND I WOULD LIKE TO ZAKUM IS THERE ANY WAY I COULD POSSIBLY ZAKUM thanks. Will this computer ever be able to Zakum? - Dusk - 2009-01-28 It's better than my computer spec-wise, and I can Zakum (I just die everytime from lag lol). I think it should work. No. Get a job and buy a new PC you lazy bum. Will this computer ever be able to Zakum? - Kawasari Mimoto - 2009-01-28 512 MB of Ram, is HALF of a 1 GB Ram. Most PCs have 2 GB or higher, my laptops have 3 GB RAM. <_< Get a better PC. Will this computer ever be able to Zakum? - Kawasari Mimoto - 2009-01-28 I don't want to say add more RAM, because you have to do it in a certain way, and know what amount to add, otherwise, it could make your computer worse. You'd be better off asking someone more knowledgeable in the 'RAM' area. <_<; I'm only good at programming computer routers and switches. =( Will this computer ever be able to Zakum? - Greg22 - 2009-01-28 I think I'm going to reformat later tonight. The only thing that's ever held me back from reformatting in the past is my music library. But whatev, I'll figure out how to manage der musics later on. Yeah, however... I ran 512 MB ram and some crappy CPU on a laptop, and managed Zakum just fine. When spawn was filled, mob went somewhat slow though. And random lag-spikes happened every here and there. You're able to zakum on it, most likely, but you should notice that you may lag a lot. Will this computer ever be able to Zakum? - Winry - 2009-01-28 If your graphics card is onboard (built in), picking up a cheap agp one off of craig's list would be my first step. Graphics cards are the easiest way to go since, if you upgrade your computer, you can put your graphics card in it too. 512mbs of ram pose a bit of a problem and its a dell so upgrading the ram would be a chore. If upgrading your graphics card isn't a solution, go to the dell website and see if you can figure out what type of ram slot it uses. Most dell computers have proprietary ram slots (that is to say that only dell ram works in them). I have a compaq desktop that is likely as old as yours & runs on 512mbs of ram. If i put my nvidia geforce fx 5200 in it, it can run zakum but it cannot handle horntail. Will this computer ever be able to Zakum? - Spaz - 2009-01-28 If you don't have antivirus or other resource hogs running, you'll probably be ok. If you do...you'll likely experience some screen freezes lasting over 10 seconds, but might be able to pull through if you're lucky. No need to reformat, but you should prune your startup programs and services. With 512 MB RAM, some lag is inevitable. Why don't you just ask to go along to zakum sometime to test it?
Will this computer ever be able to Zakum? - TKWizard - 2009-01-29 I would highly suggest getting a new computer. Seven years is basically the time a computer gets way too old, and is relegated to low performing programs and internet browsing. Not even corporate businesses want computers that are 7 or over years old. Maple's recommended system requirements seem to increase every year. You can make a good custom machine more than enough for Maple and other high performance games for about $600-800 USD. I'm waiting for Windows 7 to finally come out and become stable before I go out and buy a new system as well. Will this computer ever be able to Zakum? - Sinnuendo - 2009-01-29 If you can't get a new comp, then you can scan your PC for the kind of RAM you need at http://crucial.com/ and upgrade. Will this computer ever be able to Zakum? - Cardboardsnail - 2009-01-31 Your internet connection is more important in this case since your specs are ok for Zakum. I'd upgrade your ram a little though. Even an extra 512mb would do you good. Will this computer ever be able to Zakum? - chrome - 2009-02-01 Greg Wrote:I think I'm going to reformat later tonight.
