I don't think so.
I collect boxes on multiple characters, and since the last maintenance, I always hit exactly ten coins on all of them. (I used to get at least one character skipping the limit each day). Could be just luck, but I'm inclined to say they fixed it.

I am 100% sure i jumped the limit, from 8 coins to 11, and yet I didn't get anymore coins despite opening like 50 after that.
I just wanted to confirm with other people.

Yeah the max you can get is 12 but thats if you get lucky with coins. Otherwise if your not so lucky its 10.
