Firefox vs. Opera - chrome - 2009-01-21

inb4 firefox fanboys

Okay, plain and simple, I need help picking. I've recently been informed that Firefox 3 cut down on memory usage drastically, and now uses less than Opera. That's my main concern in a web browser, besides performance and all that jazz. Not really into add-ons, and I don't really change browser skins much. Firefox is more widely compatible with a lot of services out there too, like Hotmail and stuff. But, my main concern is memory usage and performance, on the basic level.

So, which one should I pick?

I would go with FireFox as you can customize its settings to perform better.

Firefox. Duh.

(Could've swore I posted in here before.)

Internet Explorer FTW!

No really, I just like the speed of it... Firefox and Opera are too slow...

Here I come going against the crows. I know I am a rebel...

I prefer Opera a lot better. Seems to use about the same memory as Firfox for me. I usually crash Firefox a lot easier too. Opera is a lot more organized too, and has cool features built in already. Firefox is great and all, but I believe it doesn't compare to Opera.

Haven't seen those in 2~3 years here... but that's because I'm on the Internet for about 14 years now... Wink

Haha you're concerned about "memory usage"? Take a look at your desktop:

Denial is a wonderous thing. :')

Firefox vs. Opera - Shinryuji - 2009-01-21

where's the both option >_>

FF's my main, Opera 2nd, Chrome 3rd

as for performances, i don't notice any differences

only real reason i use FF over Opera is because of the ad-block >_>

Well, I use Firefox, but I like the mouse gesture thing in Opera, where you right click and drag left or right to go back or forward a page.

Opera is better IMO.

F'uck off Greg why do you think I'm concerned?

I THINK SOME PEOPLE ARE JUST JEALOUS

Firefox vs. Opera - Mark - 2009-01-21

If you got rid of all that useless sh'it on your desktop you can happily use Firefox without having to be worried.

How ironic.
IE is slow as crap for me, while FF is pretty fast. :f6:

Firefox vs. Opera - Stereo - 2009-01-22

I find FF to be faster for Flash and Opera to be faster for Java, really I dunno which is more common though.

I use Opera as my main browser cause it doesn't lose my bookmarks (Not only did Firefox lose them 2-3 times in a row, almost anyone I know who uses it has lost them at some point)

Firefox vs. Opera - MetaSeraphim - 2009-01-22

Opera does have a adblocker, while it's not as good as Firefox, it's still there.

I use both myself.

This should pretty much answer your question: http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp

Never lost my FF bookmarks. Not that it's hard to export or import them.
