Even if he doesn't do what the people think is right, it doesn't mean he is completely wrong everytime...
Sure he didn't do the best job, but he isn't the worst. The president will become whatever the country needs him to be, and if he needs to be a scapegoat or a source of blame so be it.

He sleeps VERY well at night. He got everything he wanted, and he got away with it.
Bush has been regarded as a sort of mentally deficient kickable puppy for the last 8 years. People laughed at him because he was not articulate, and they all thought he was very stupid. But think about it, he was the one running the country, and the Dems were running around in dissarray. The Republicans simply got greedy, and drained the country to such an extent that they didn't win reelection. But that's McCain's problem, not Bush's.
Bush got his allies, such as Haliburton and the oil companies, major $$$ and he personally got elected to 2 terms as President. His major policies, such as the creation of Medicare D and the Iraq war, all went according to his plan. He placed Alito and Roberts into the Supreme Court, establishing a conservative majority there. Seriously, what more could Bush have wanted for himself? Here in Chicago, gas prices fell from $4.50 to $1.60 a gallon literally the moment the Republicans lost the presidential election. Bush is not a retard at all. If you track his career, he has always been using his opponents' tendency to belittle and underestimate him to beat all of them.

A rather large amount of people have compared the dark knight to the bush administration.
