Hi! - Providence - 2009-01-19

I've recieved more than a few private messages regarding how I'm completely unknown and why I was considered for mod. I honestly take no offense as I'd most likely ask myself the same things. I also realize how this may come off as self-promotion, but I assure you: that's not my intention. So here's a bit about myself~

My name's Ryan and I live in the wonderful city of Providence, Rhode Island (in the USA). I'm 18 and currently attending a college named CCRI (Community College of Rhode Island). I plan on moving from there to the Rhode Island College in order to get my master's degree in English. I want to teach high school English and have for about...4 years (oddly, about the same time I started MS).

I thoroughly enjoy both listening to and playing music and I have a wide variety of musical tastes (my favorites being oldskool screamo, crust punk, ambient, sludge metal, and good ol' fashioned hardcore; my favorite band is Pageninetynine). I also enjoy cooking, video games (dur), reading (I'm a dark fantasy nerd), and taking care of animals. I rarely take myself too seriously.

I used to be a moderator on a satyrical Wiki called "Encyclopædia Dramatica, though I eventually left when I figured out I wasn't that type of person (and also because they were cutting back on operators anyway). I only still lurk *chans for their /x/ boards.

I've been friends with both Magus and Cactuar for a few years, as well.

Whoa, we definitely have a lot of that in common. Except my name isn't Ryan, I'm older and I live in a much different place. Lol But seriously, I have every intention of becoming a high school English teacher. And my interest in the career happened around the same time I started MS, too... Perhaps the overall terrible grammar of MS' population has driven us to correct this injustice by targeting the source?! (Kidding lol)
