Ever since the Shade update, when they added all of the other planets to the Nova dimension, I've always expected one of them to be the Pink Bean planet. The reasoning being that when they tried to resurrect the Black Mage, it accidentally broke the seal between dimensions and allowed Pink Bean to cross over. It was the first sign of the worlds merging.

Besides, it's been hinted at a few times that he's a race rather than a single entity.

You know, I swore off Maple Story forever and all. Didn't even bother doing my new class release get to 120 for the Link Skill ritual for Shade..... (Doesn't help that his Link Skill isn't that great and I just wanted his S Rank card anyway.)

But god pineappleing dammit, I HAVE to come back for Pink Bean!

And if it's the new OP class to rule them all and can mange well enough without cubing, I can fight Pink Bean..... with Pink Bean!

Edit: Hell, I have a Nexon Korea account now. I can even play PB when he releases on KMS. I won't have all my GMS Link Skills, Cards, Empress' Blessing, account sharable rings, etc. though.

I think the general consensus is that, lore-wise, Pink Bean has absolutely nothing to do with the Black Mage. The early mentions of him as the Black Mage's minion were either a screw-up on someone's part or has long since been retconned. (I think the same description that called him the Black Mage's minion also claimed that he was summoned from whichever dimension the Black Mage was sealed in, which obviously isn't the case)
