Circuit City closing down in U.S. - Zaotsu - 2009-01-16 Quote:NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Bankrupt electronics retailer Circuit City Inc. said Friday it will close its remaining 567 U.S. stores and sell all its merchandise. Note to self: Buy stuff at dirt prices from Circuit City.
Circuit City closing down in U.S. - ItzTaylor - 2009-01-16 I also read this. Sucks. So many major companies going out of business. Circuit City closing down in U.S. - Takebacker - 2009-01-16 It can't be helped, now that everything is online. Maybe this will give rise to some underdogs though? o_o Not that i can think of any... Circuit City closing down in U.S. - IsaacGS - 2009-01-17 I remember over christmas people were talking about getting gift certificates for there... I heard they had closed some already by then, this was only a matter of time. Didn't expect it so soon though O_o wish I had a bunch of money to go buy out all the stuff on sale. xD Circuit City closing down in U.S. - GMSInfighter - 2009-01-17 First Mervyn's, now Circuit City. It's a shame. Circuit City closing down in U.S. - KajitiSouls - 2009-01-17 Damn, what the employees said were true T_T I really don't feel like putting up with Best Buy's crap-for-an-excuse policies -_-; Circuit City closing down in U.S. - Throes - 2009-01-17 It's really not surprising considering the state of the Circuit City by my apartment... their employees didn't give a pomegranate about anything resembling customer service, and they didn't carry a good selection of anything in the store itself. Meh. Time to raid what's left of the crap they do carry, I suppose. Circuit City closing down in U.S. - Devil - 2009-01-17 Yeah, that's what you get America, re-electing a retard as president... Thank god there was no terrorist attack the last 7 years though... So now all jobless families can enjoy their life without income in pure freedom! :') Circuit City closing down in U.S. - Myles - 2009-01-17 Woolworths recently went bankrupt in England aswell. Damn, it'll be weird walking down highstreets and not seeing them anymore ![]() The best part about Woolworths was the Pick n Mix :3 Circuit City closing down in U.S. - Kersmack - 2009-01-17 Devil Wrote:Yeah, that's what you get America, re-electing a retard as president... Do you ever have anything intelligent or helpful to contribute? I really fail to see how 30,000+ people losing jobs is anything to be even remotely entertained with. I would say more but I doubt it would make any difference to you since you never seem to understand anyways. On-topic: Circuit City has been going downhill with their service and selection so I suppose it's not too surprising this happened. The last few times I was in one of them it was like a ghost town. Circuit City closing down in U.S. - DrRusty - 2009-01-17 Ooohhhh I see a business opportunity. With circuit city closing its doors, now seems like a perfect time to sell the stock I have in corning inc and move my money into best buy XD. Now the only competition for electronics they really have is lolwalmartelectronicsection. Circuit City closing down in U.S. - Mashi - 2009-01-17 Only if they sold Game Cards for half price... Circuit City closing down in U.S. - SuGaRnSp1C3 - 2009-01-17 I'll probably stop by the store either today or tomorrow or during the week to see what they have on clearance. I really do need a new printer & among other things. It was inevitable really.. I mean the circuit city that's near my house was getting raped by the best buy that was like literally across the street! Circuit City closing down in U.S. - Derimed - 2009-01-17 About 2-3 years ago Circuit City in Chicago claimed to have achieved maximum possible market share and this supposedly caused them to found CarMax, because Circuit City itself had "expanded as much as it possibly could have." Reminds me of the anti-smoking campaign by Phillip Morris. "Phillip Morris: assisting the community in keeping cigarettes away from minors."

The total cost of the war in Iraq is $625.000.000.000,- on 17jan 2008 (+4227 dead soldiers...). If that amount of money would have been invested in the American economy itself, or would have been available -right now- to support businesses in the USA, all these factories would have been running fine right now, and those 30.000 people wouldn't have lost their jobs... All I wanted to say is that America's love for war and ruling the whole wide world in 2004 brought them down to the things we're seeing today: A crashing economy & unemployment explosion... Circuit City closing down in U.S. - FallenMemory - 2009-01-17 I bought a Tv from circuit city awile back, and have a payment plan. What does that mean for me since I'm still paying it off? 0__O Circuit City closing down in U.S. - »-Chris-> - 2009-01-18 Was Circuit City "Radio Shack"? Or I think it's called "The Source" now? Circuit City closing down in U.S. - Zaotsu - 2009-01-18 »-Chris->' Wrote:Was Circuit City "Radio Shack"? Or I think it's called "The Source" now? No. Radio Shacks were generally very small stores with a limited range of electronics. Circuit City is more like Best Buy. They have games, TV's, computers, music, appliances, sound stuff, etc. Sale for now is crap anyways, mostly everything is just 10% off and there's some stuff they marked up and then put the 10% off on, so its not really that much. Circuit City closing down in U.S. - Derimed - 2009-01-18 Devil Wrote:Two things: Comparing the war to Circuit City getting nuked seems like apples and oranges. BOTH are very bad and unfortunate things, and C.C. shutting down does not affect the war situation in any way. That's partly right, Circuit City is called "The Source" in Canada. As for Radio Shack, they're two different companies. |
