We recently completed performing compatibility testing for MapleStory, in order to determine how the game client functions on a variety of computer set-ups. MapleStory has undergone lots of updates in the past several years, and we realized that as the game has gotten bigger, our previous system requirements had become outdated.

As a result, we have updated the minimum and recommended system specifications for MapleStory. Please see below:

• We recommend that you install DirectX version 9.0 or higher for the client to run smoothly.
  
• While MapleStory may continue to play on Windows XP, we cannot guarantee its functionality. In addition, if you have Windows XP, your computer may be vulnerable because Windows XP is no longer receiving security updates as of 4/8/2014.

What do these changes mean to you?
If you’re playing MapleStory with system requirements that are lower than the minimum specifications listed above, the game may still run, but will be more susceptible to technical issues. If you encounter technical issues while playing, please contact Customer Support and we will try to help, although there may be some issues that we are not able to resolve.

Dark Zero Wrote:Remember something Nexon... the test says that it's needed a Core 2 Duo at 3.0 Ghz, but my CPU is a Core i3 380M (1st Gen) at 2.53 Ghz, so I assume that the improvements between the Core 2 Duo and the i3 is about 15%, so... It's pretty near the recomended mark instead near the Minimum mark.

Well... BTW, time to think into a replacement for my laptop then. Maybe It's time to switch to an AMD FX for a while.
