Pacific: 6:30 AM - 10:30 AM
Eastern: 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM

What will be unavailable:

All MapleStory game servers.

Website login and the billing system will be unavailable from 6:30 AM - 9 AM Pacific.

Changes and Updates:

Back end modifications and updates will be made to the servers.

The event list will now correctly show Sengoku High instead of Red Leaf High 2.

The game client will no longer become unresponsive when attempting to complete the quest Outstanding Citizen.

A fix has been applied to some max level action pets that were unable to evolve with the Accelerator item.

the current version almost doubled or more the memory usage compared to before. can no longer load on my laptop which runs out of memory and whole computer freezes.

Due to a bug with the Monster Purge event on November 1, Lv. 30 and above characters that were created before that date can talk to NPC Cassandra and select 11/1 Monster Purge Compensation to receive the reward box. Only one character per account can receive the box. Make sure to pick up and open the box before 11/19/14 1 AM (Pacific).

Sounds like the only reasonable thing they could do. Although those that did manage to do that event now end up with double the rewards. (And those who forgot to do it get a second chance). But I suppose finding only those who were affected was too hard.

Also a reminder: assuming it's the same box, it will only give you a character slot if opened on a char over level 100!

I wonder how many people will miss this since they don't read the maintenance notes and it's not exactly 'advertised', for lack of a better term. It's not in any of the side notifiers and when you go to talk to Cassandra it's under misc.>talk to Cassandra.

No, it's more like it was added at the very last minute.
"Talk to Cassandra" stuff is the easiest to add globally.

I do wonder whether they'll put up a separate notice for this, though, as they sometimes put for events that start or cash shop sales, even though the info was in the patch notes or regular cash notice.

It seems that even if you got the monster purge box and the character slot the first time, you will get another from the compensation still. Well, helps me relieve the cost of nx I guess.

Yes. As I wrote above, they gave up on trying to figure out who was affected, and are giving the box to everyone, even if they succeeded on Nov 1 or didn't even try it then.

Still doing both, for me.
Memory doesn't shoot up to 2GB instantly, but it climbs up there in an hour of standing still.
