K.o.m. - Derimed - 2009-01-11 I've repeatedly seen screenshots and posts by one of the three Knights Of Maple guilds in Scania. Was this just a way to bypass the 100 person limit on guilds, or is membership acceptance of certain rules that hold for each member? My Khaini guild has certain rules for participation, but they are only in place for the guild, not alliance. And we've never expanded beyond 100. K.o.m. - JakeAndBake - 2009-01-11 maybe they were edits K.o.m. - Doooug - 2009-01-11 WELL. The only reason why we have multiple divisions is to go beyond the 100-person-guild thing. We're not like some super club that puts people on levels ._. K.o.m. - WillDaSnail - 2009-01-11 Doooug Wrote:WELL.He kinda summed it up. Well since KoM is one of Scania's most popular guilds, can't hurt to have multi divisions to go beyond the limits if more people wants to join. And since there's alliance = win. K.o.m. - Mashi - 2009-01-11 And I always thought it mean Kom[plete] ... K.o.m. - Retalion - 2009-01-11 Im pretty sure this happened BEFORE guild upgrades and guilds held 30 max, hence the whole different divisions. After that, they just never bothered forming the guilds together and continued to grow as seperate entities till the stage they are today. Im not in KoM so I have no idea how it really works but that's the understanding I have of the situation. K.o.m. - Lyssa - 2009-01-12 The guild Knights of Maple had 3 divisions when guilds were first released. Before guilds existed ingame the members kept in touch using the forum (which is still hanging around today). When guilds were released, I believe membership hovered around 90, each division maxed out at 30 members. Unlike many guilds with divisions, we don't sort players out by class or level; wherever we have space we'll chuck your char. Also calling the guild simply "KoM" couldn't work because 3 letters is too short. Having KoMI, KoMII and KoMIII was agreed as the way to deal with the issue. The guild itself has continued growing over the years and we've got at least a half a dozen "KoM" divisions--market mules, a GQing guild, about 4 for players' active characters. Oh, and yes, we do have some requirements for folks to join us--not level/training speed/class; we focus on the person BEHIND the character. ./end essay. ~Lyssa K.o.m. - FallenMemory - 2009-01-14 Lyssa summed it up. We even added KoMIV fairly recently due to all the pirates that were being made. I'd say alliance was the best thing that happened, cause now we can just talk to anyone whenever. K.o.m. - Rain - 2009-01-16 KoMI - Mule Guild KoMII - One of the Main divisions KoMIII - Another of the Main divisions KoMIV - Pirate/New Expansion Guild 8D KoMGQ - Guild PQ...guild... All joined by Alliance. The guild itself is revolves around it's forum. Thats where it all began you see, before the Guild System. Expansion to 100 came much later (I remember when it happend, lol) so KoMIII was probably created for that(?) (I wasn't in the guild when that happend ._.) K.o.m. - Ashley - 2009-01-16 KoM has been around since before guilds were introduced to Maple. As we grew, we added different divisions - before alliances was out we had the separate divisions, and you were welcome to "hop" from division to division as you'd like. However, the guild that you trailed in would always be your "home". We'd have meet-up's weekly so that there was interaction between the guilds. KoMII was the quiet guild, KoMIII was the chatty guild. KoMI was pretty much for mules. And GQ - well, self explanatory. Now that alliance is out, the five KoM guilds are allianced. We are sitting at a strong 117 members (last time I've updated my Members List). As far as I know, KoMI, KoMII aren't expanded to full - and the original KoMIII wasn't either. |
