I still remember when GMS had a design a pet contest and a little bro won... then eveyone went crazy because "you can't have humans as pets"
now we have tons of humans as pets, even psy.

Are these pets "normal" pets that can be extended, or do they work like the Rune Snail and disappear once their duration ends?

Those are short-term pets which are given away to the ranked ones in Shining Star. Doubt they can be extended. :x
As the Shining Star release has been delayed the current Kmst testing term was extended. By whole 6 month.
