Vista + HT - DamyouAL - 2009-01-10 thats the real problem xD is it true u just have to alt tab after pre heads and wings? Vista + HT - Nikkey - 2009-01-10 Well, I alt-tabbed/changed graphics quality after we killed a part of the body. All the time. Yet sometimes I disconnected/crashed. Also, I had to restart the comp after each run, I couldn't run twice. This was without SP1 though, so it may have been fixed. I myself just gave up on that and got myself Windows XP again. So much more stable if you're playing maple, at least. Vista + HT - DamyouAL - 2009-01-14 Devil's Sunrise Wrote:Well, I alt-tabbed/changed graphics quality after we killed a part of the body. Vista + HT - Nikkey - 2009-01-14 DamyouAL Wrote:isnt it more glitchy when u downgrade ur windows from vista to XP? Ah, well. Yeah, you should have some drivers to your graphics card for XP obviously. If those drivers doesn't exist, then downgrading won't help you much. I'm not really sure whether they've fixed it or not through the SP1 for Vista, or through windowed mode. It's not like I've tested it out, because I've been running on XP since I found it faster and more compatible with programs I work with. Have you been dcing from runs with Vista? Vista + HT - DamyouAL - 2009-01-14 last run around 12-15 people DCd and all maple said "maple has stopped working" we didnt have service pack 1 then most DCers were vista, some where windows moded some not and i believe even someone with XP dcd but im not sure i cant recall the DCs happen 2 @ 2nd head and the rest uppon summon then after legs Vista + HT - Nikkey - 2009-01-14 Ah. Well, I apologize, but I can't help you out at the current moment. Maybe ask other groups of people who had the same issue and are still playing? If that doesn't work, one way is to test it out. But I'd call that a last resort option. Vista + HT - Kevo - 2009-01-14 I haven't gone to HT for a long time, but typically what I do is to change Picture Quality before each head, before Full HT is Summoned, and after each Body Part is destroyed. It's a pain (Auto Pots helps a lot!), but it guarantees that I don't disconnect from the game. I use Vista with Service Pack 1. Before, I only had to change Picture Quality just once during the Full HT but then after the Pirates patch I started to disconnect. Since I started changing Picture Quality more frequently, I haven't experienced any problem at HT. Vista + HT - DamyouAL - 2009-01-14 do u start max quality and lower or how? im confused o.O Vista + HT - Kevo - 2009-01-14 I don't think it really matters as long as you change Picture Quality. I alternate between Highest and Lowest Quality though. Vista + HT - CrazyNomad - 2009-01-15 i always go HT using vista, and i can do 2 run w/o the need of rebotting my comp. i always play windowed mode, and theonly thing i go is reset graphics (high-to-low, low-to-high) before pre head summon/after it dies, and at body, i just go to low, wait 5-10min, go to high and so on. I use the windows vista toolbar, and i leave the memory usage monitor on, i noticed now after the .63patch, when i start HT, my ram usage is at 58%, at body, it is at 69%, when i reset the graphics, it go down by 1-3%, but sometimes it goes to 74-75%, and then maple like freeze for 1-5secs, and the memory go down to 60%, but i don't D/C Vista + HT - DamyouAL - 2009-01-15 thank you CrazyNomad =] so lower quality to low after 1st pre head then 2nd pre head change a bit higher at body after each body party change higher higher and then lower lower =] well give it a shot --------- this is whats on vista SP1 that caought my eyes 1: 925528 Stop errors occur on a Windows-based computer that has 2GB or more of RAM and is using an NVIDIA nForce USB controller HotFix Drivers 2: March 2007 Windows Vista Application Compatibility Update someone please check this? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932246 3: December 2007 Windows Vista Application Compatibility Update http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943302 Vista + HT - XTOTHEL - 2009-01-15 I can confirm that all you need to do is change your graphic settings from high to anything lower after it gets summoned, then back to high right after. Do this for each run. Vista + HT - jikos - 2009-01-17 CrazyNomad Wrote:i always go HT using vista, and i can do 2 run w/o the need of rebotting my comp. how much ram do you have? im really worried about mine. i have vista and after sending my laptop in for repair i got it back with 1gb of ram (sent it in with 2 -.-) will it be enough for ht? Vista + HT - DamyouAL - 2009-01-17 i tried changing 1 noth on graphics per body part that died, after i reach lowest from highest i switched between 2nd lowest and lowest, back and forth, i finished the run with no problem or the glitch after HT is killed =] Vista + HT - ChiefHermit - 2009-01-18 im using vista SP 1, i alt-tab 3 times #1 before 1st prelim head #2 before 2nd prelim head #3 before summoning the whole thing this works fine for me, no d/c's so far Vista + HT - mugsly - 2009-01-19 jikos Wrote:how much ram do you have? im really worried about mine. i have vista and after sending my laptop in for repair i got it back with 1gb of ram (sent it in with 2 -.-) will it be enough for ht? u'll prolly lag a bit, but u can live through horntail, before i got my laptop i used to horntail with 256mb of ram ( 0.14 fps during prelims)
