Which is more annoying? - Eos - 2014-07-07 This is a curiosity driven poll, posted here so guests can participate since it'd effect them too. <script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.easypolls.net/ext/scripts/emPoll.js?p=53bb31b6e4b042018544c8c3"></script><a class="OPP-powered-by" href="https://www.murvey.com" style="text-decoration:none;"><div style="font: 9px arial; color: gray;">survey tools</div></a> Which is more annoying? - Marksman Bryan - 2014-07-07 I've already adjusted to the left side-bar ad and I thought it was extremely annoying when it was first implemented. I'll take it over interstitials any day of the week. Which is more annoying? - Zelkova - 2014-07-07 Even though its not above the fold, I would still prefer the adbot to post directly below the OP in a thread. Which is more annoying? - MasPan - 2014-07-07 Only problem I have with the left side ad is that it pushes everything to the side, which makes me scroll to the right every time I load a page. Mildly annoying, but I can deal with it. Interstitial are more disruptive overall. Which is more annoying? - ShinkuDragon - 2014-07-07 yea, i don't have a problem with either, but the left ad pushing everything to the right IS a problem/annoyance. Which is more annoying? - Green4Ever - 2014-07-07 Left adbar by far. Having to scroll to the right to read a post is incredibly annoying. Which is more annoying? - y0y0y0y0shi0 - 2014-07-07 I chose left sidebar because I misread the second option. Interstitial are by far worse. Although I'd take right sidebar over left. On English speaking websites left ads probably make more money than right. Which is more annoying? - Shidoshi - 2014-07-07 Google answered me. Both are very very annoying for different reasons. I wouldn't mind left side ads outside of threads, but I don't think you'd have an option like that. It not just pushes everything to the right, it completely screws up the page width. Even just the text part is often wider than my window, so I have to keep scrolling right AND left to be able to read. At least interstitial would be a single click between pages, not a continuous annoyance while trying to read a page. What browser are you using? I don't get any overflow problem in Chrome. Everything is scaling fine for me. This is the smallest I can make the page before it stops scaling.

Yay no more overlap! Now you wont get in trouble with adsense for having the login bar over the advertisement! Which is more annoying? - Chilly - 2014-07-08 Speaking of AdSense, how are their restrictions/regulation in terms of content on a site placed by other advertisers? I ask because you might get a letter if certain "Onigiri" MMORPG ads come up on the sidebar while an inspector(?) or over-zealous reporter was around. Which is more annoying? - y0y0y0y0shi0 - 2014-07-08 I'm getting the image scaling thing in Chrome too. Threads without images work fine, but as soon as someone posts an image the entire page just gets stretched out. Zelkova's image, for example, just destroyed this thread. |
