That's because they reused the mob ID of the old Guy Fawkes (or in GMS's case, Mal Volence) for the pirate boss's.

Also, I hope they aren't adding the Guy Fawkes boss as the pirate boss, and that is just a mistake. Otherwise, errr..

Well V is based on Guy Fawkes, plus that boss is from the Guy Fawkes event in EMS. It's definitely not a reference to the movie Biggrin

It works, and so does the Map of Phantom Forest.

I'm so glad I didn't throw them away despite Set-Up inventory overflow.

On the other hand... Lower Ascent now seems to have the speed and jump limit of a JQ map, although my double jump works so I assume other movement skills should too.
