I did the calculations for myself personally, and they don't seem to be THAT much more OP than other classes. I'm a Thunder Breaker, not a class generally considered to be OP. Unless the soul split skill is literally 1.5x in damage, and not merely 50% total damage, I'd actually end up with less DPS if I were to switch over all my current equips, against bosses with physical resist.
That said, if that skill really is 1.5x in damage, then HNNNNNNNNNNNNG.
Plus, they have a bind and a resurrect, and I don't have either

Yea, that link skill is beyond terrible. It's not worth doing at all. Maybe if they changed the chance to survive to 30 or 40%.

It's like a turned-around Shadow Partner concept -- with SP your shadow does a fraction of your damage on top of what you do, and that is directly based on your damage; in this case it does X percent of your damage (double? 50%?) by giving you an additional immobile target to hit (which is tied to the boss).
Now think about using this on CVellum.

I found the class to be a bit easy to play because of not having to cast any skills beyond "Spirit Barrier".
