Slow computer with MSN - Horusmaster - 2008-12-25

My computer recently became so slow... I did not download any suspicious programs, and I don't think my computer have a virus. Only thing I downloaded in the past few days are some addons from firefox, some videos on youtube.com and tudou.com, FLV player, QQgames and uTorrent.

The thing I noticed recently is that after computer starts and goes to desktop, I have to wait at least 30 second before my computer stops lagging. During this period, I checked task manager, and I have found the Page File (PF) usage to be lower than usual, and many of the user names in process won't show. Later, PF usage goes up and my computer goes to normal speed.

yesterday, uTorrent messed up my internet. I restored my computer to the day before. (later i find out i only had to disable/reenable internet).

Now after the restore when my computer starts, the PF usage will never go up. and so my computer is still a bit slower than usual.

The computer is still quite usable, in fact it's about the same speed as before except when i chat on MSN. MSN will make CPU usage go up to 100% and take up 90%+ of the CPU. however if I click on another program, CPU usage will go down quickly. but whenever I chat on MSN it lags...

some other facts about MSN: my friend recently changed to a dynamic display picture. also the friend I chat with have 5MB of chat log saved on my computer. 2 of the 5 MB is created in the last week. maybe because of too much stuff in chat log?

give it a disk clean up and defrag.

also does the cpu usage jump when you talk to a friend without a dynamic display pic?
