I believe if everyone in your party feeds him something, you'll get a random buff from him when you enter the PQ. I only OPQ'd a few times when it first came out on my Priest, and I had the buff once. Can't recall what the different buffs are, though.

When people feed him, they get a random buff in the PQ
I think they range from W/M DEF; W/M ATK; Speed/jump; and probably defence.
