Does anybody know the formula to calculating the total HP?

Same as any other stat.
HP = HP * (1+HP%)
Base hp and hp from equips are affected by hp%, don't know about other sources.

Pretty much just (HP + Equip HP + args...) * (1 + HP%).
Where args is any other source of HP.

just do what locked said backwards. or if you're lazy, buy a single AP reset, and it should show you your base HP/MP

Yeah but how do I calculate it? I want to calculate how much HP I would get at a particular level. Is it always random on the HP gain per level?

It's random. Each class has a different range.

It's a little different now but I think the idea remains the same.
