Julia Gillard's accent is fairly thick. People have been saying that she does it on purpose to fit in more with the working-class image that the Labor Party is upholding. Most people I know speak like the OP. ie. University students.

They pretty much just changed the appearance, but got lazy with the sounds. The Swamp Monsters for Thieves sound like Cold Eyes as well.
