Guys.... I have a really bad habit... - VladTheLvr - 2008-12-10 I steal pens. Lots of pens. And today I have stolen the principal's pens that he got from the mayor at the opening day of school. My principal this lunch was filling out some forms and giving away field trip forms to Seniors. Unfortunately he had to step aside for a minute. He put down his pen but knocked it over when he got up. And then it happened. Seeing the shiny silver and gold plated object on the ground I felt my heart rate go up as the adrenaline poured in. I quickly looked around to see if anyone noticed and knowing that the area is secure, my foot swiftly and instinctively moved over the pen. Trying to look as innocent as possible I bent over to untie and retie my shoes while quickly hiding the writing utensil in the middle of my wist and my jacket. Knowing that the principal will return any time, probably looking for his pen, I quickly gave a random excuse to my senior friend and quickly left the area and walked for the bathroom down the hall. In the secure environment of the bathroom I dropped the pen in the side pocket of my old over-the-shoulder backpack. Heading back outside I saw the ol' man looking under the desk for that pen. Trying to conceal the mental guilt of stealing an apparently valuable object I brush the topic off and empty my mind by continuing along with the daily routine. Fast forward to 4:05 PM, I have the pen at my side. At a glance, the golden yellow luster looks fake and the silver looks like stainless steel. However the pen probably holds high sentimental value unlike the other hundreds of pens that I stole from various people and organizations. I have attempted at writing you the most accurate description of the theft. Now I want you tell me if I should return the pen or keep it in my collection. Guys.... I have a really bad habit... - Erich - 2008-12-10 I think you shoudl return it unless your Principal is a asshat. I'm that way with pencils. Except a pencil can't really hold sentimental value. Guys.... I have a really bad habit... - Corn - 2008-12-10 Um...I understand regular pens, but a principal's pen that he got from the mayor..? Guys.... I have a really bad habit... - Takebacker - 2008-12-10 What kind of idiot would hold a pen of all things with such high sentimental value. I understand your collection enthusiasm, but seriously. He's going to get over it in a day. Guys.... I have a really bad habit... - Harrisonized - 2008-12-10 Make sure you wipe your fingerprints off before you return it. Guys.... I have a really bad habit... - ShadowMarck - 2008-12-11 DO NOT FUCKING RETURN IT!!!!!!!! Everyone in the school system (staff, teachers, principals, etc.) are total douchebags and don't deserve anything nice for the bullcrap that they do. Keep the pen. You should be proud for doing something mean to a principal. Good job. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
Guys.... I have a really bad habit... - Russt - 2008-12-11 It's obviously bothering your conscience, so just return it. Up to you whether to sneak it back onto his desk or tell him up front. Then again the latter might be awkward. "Um... I stole your pen you got from the mayor and I felt really bad about it, so here's it back..." Guys.... Or maybe you could the tough guy method. "Dude! Your freaking pen fell into my hand! Don't ever let it happen again, or I'll screw up your face." Guys.... I have a really bad habit... - ZachAttack - 2008-12-11 Go to him, tell him you took it, and say you're sorry. The only way to break a habit is to do it in the most straightforward way. Well, the other way would be to get caught and get in big trouble, but that just works on me because I'm a big goodie goodie. Guys.... Besides the fact that most faculty members go underpaid in many parts of the world, consider:
Guys.... I have a really bad habit... - Management - 2008-12-11 Write with it, in front of your principal. Act like you don't know it's his. If he tries to take it back, call Rape. Guys.... I have a really bad habit... - xpimnoob - 2008-12-11 fight the system.. and if you get caught talk about the global recession or the psychological challenge of kleptomania Guys.... I have a really bad habit... - VladTheLvr - 2008-12-11 I have decided. Im going to rip off that metal stick on the cap of the pen (the one that shows a custom engraved name), put it in an envelope, then write with a red marker WE HAVE YOUR PEN meet us in the P.E. field at 4:30, during football practice. Im going to drop off the mail at the schools mail box then leave at 2:30, hoping something bad happens to the football team. Guys.... I have a really bad habit... - Derimed - 2008-12-11 This OP sounds like a chapter from a badly written porno novel. Guys.... I have a really bad habit... - SuGaRnSp1C3 - 2008-12-11 Return it..plain & simple :f6: not that hard. What is he going to do? expell you for picking up his pen. I have met plenty of teachers and staff that deserve waaay more and should get paid more. They're helping the community and many of them enjoy it, even with the lackluster pay. I'm in college right now and most of my professors are really cool to talk to, hell even our janitor is awesome. They're really smart people and you could learn much from them if you had a chat with them. Damn, you're post just infuriates me. Oh and I think you should return it to him in person. Even if you say that you found it on the floor, is better than putting it in mailbox. Guys.... I have a really bad habit... - VladTheLvr - 2008-12-11 Im not returning the pen.... I already broke a part of it and sent it in the envelope for kicks. Anyways I don't like my principal because he has butchered the cycling team... And btw, although some teachers are nice and actually good teachers, most of the teachers I have experienced in Florida ignore students and don't give a rats ass about their job of teaching children. And the fact that the principal submits to the school board of directors on funding cuts instead of fighting for us students. GTFO and thank you for the nice and shiny pen. The only great teachers I met were my 8th grade earth science teacher and my choir teacher. My science teacher was able to come up with interesting ways to help us remember important concepts such as the layers of the earth (the lithosphere goes under the atmosphere). My choir teacher is also great because when she teaches choir and music theory she does it in a way that is fun and generally tries to keep the students enjoying the class and the performances they do. I have also had a good yearbook class teacher , a good math (geometry) teacher, and a good tv-production teacher. Other than that most teachers in my school, although some attempt do a decent job, are just not enthusiastic about working with students and give mostly book work instead of actually teaching the lesson. And then there are horrible teachers who give lessons straight out of the book in a monotone voice, droning on and on without actually stopping to elaborate the material or discuss it or teachers that refuse to help students. In my total school life I had many teachers and the ratios of great to good to bad teachers is 1:1:4. |
