.....I blame you people for this, but I'm making a Pirate - Kawasari Mimoto - 2008-12-10 Not so much because "LOL BANDWAGON!", but more like Pirates seems fun, because judging by the posts I've read here, they're like CBs/Shadowers, right? I've never played a Bandit, but the comboing thing makes Brawlers sounds really intriguing to me. I wouldn't mind testing out a build or two, gimme about a week or two to come up with a strange build that's semi-effective. >_>; Any tips from expert Brawlers out there? FYI, I have played: -Lv 146 Bishop -Lv 101 PADK -Lv 120 Night Lord lol ^ @ 'trinity'-classes. .....I blame you people for this, but I'm making a Pirate - Dusk - 2008-12-10 The 'trinity' classes seem more like "spam one skill, rinse and repeat" classes. Brawlers are hella different. .....I blame you people for this, but I'm making a Pirate - Kawasari Mimoto - 2008-12-10 Dusk Wrote:The 'trinity' classes seem more like "spam one skill, rinse and repeat" classes. Brawlers are hella different. That's usually the case, DKs spams less though. They have more variations if they have points into Sacrifice, Roar, along with Fury and Crusher. I do agree when it comes to the other two classes though. <_<; .....I blame you people for this, but I'm making a Pirate - Firefux - 2008-12-10 Be prepared to have a whole section of your keyboard dedicated for attacks Lol .....I blame you people for this, but I'm making a Pirate - Kirov - 2008-12-10 Thinking of a good keyboard set up for a buc just makes my head hurt. .....I blame you people for this, but I'm making a Pirate - Sivrat - 2008-12-10 go ahead and follow SHikage's guide on first and second jobs, but in third, do not get transform at the beginning. Max Stun Mastery, then get 12 energy charge, then 11 blast, then finish charge, then finish blast. THEN start transform/shockwave. Oh, and like the others said, keyboard layout is a pain. Im still so used to having all my important stuff on the buttons that show up on screen (Del, CTRL, end, etc) that thats where many of my attacks are. But for Shockwave, when you get it, you wont use it until transform, and then thats all you will use, so i put mine on F. Make sure you leave a spot on screen for transform and super transform, and maybe time leap, you will want to know when they run out. Dont put corkscrew near the arrow keys, because you will want to be able to move around, climb ladders, and jump while charging if need be. -Edit- Oh yeah, if you dont mind leeching, dont do it too much otherwise you wont properly know how to control your character. Im not saying you will suck completely, because it doesnt take TOO long to figure out any maple character. Im just saying im early marauder, and i still dont use Backspin effectively, and am trying to relearn that becasue of Stun mastery. And i havent even leeched much(like 3 hours, total). .....I blame you people for this, but I'm making a Pirate - DrRusty - 2008-12-10 Welcome to the dark side .About keyboard layout, It's pretty easy to have a decent keyboard layout if you're not using ALT to jump. I honestly don't know how people can play like that . All of my skills are done with my left hand, including loot/jump/potting. My right hand is ONLY for moving (I play on a laptop so End, PG down, PG up, Delete, etc are not close to my right hand anyway).And.. they're "sort of" similar to a shadower I guess.. They're alot slower in attacks and movement though. Brawlers are really their own class though. .....I blame you people for this, but I'm making a Pirate - Stereo - 2008-12-10 DrRusty Wrote:Welcome to the dark side Yeah, I have my hand in the middle of the keyboard instead of that bottom corner and it works out a lot better for key availability. I can press YU DFGHJK XC BNM without moving fingers more than 1 spot away from where they naturally lie. Have the "main finger spots" mapped to jump(Y), loot(F), single attack (J) (Powerstrike/Double Upper/L7/etc) and a secondary attack © (Drain, Charge Blow, w/e) and can still map 9 more easily accessible attacks/buffs. Usually I put buffs on X G U B. This would make more sense with pics, lol. .....I blame you people for this, but I'm making a Pirate - madanthony - 2008-12-10 DrRusty Wrote:Welcome to the dark sideWe have cookies. ![]() I feel I have a decent layout with jump still on alt. I've got my thumb there, and I've cleared everything from shift to the r-f-v column freed up for moves. Lucky for me though, my end+pg down stuff is reachable with my right-hand. It was actually an unspoken selling point for me on this laptop. >< It really doesn't feel at all like my shadower to me. The similarities are mostly on paper. .....I blame you people for this, but I'm making a Pirate - Link - 2008-12-10 Kirov Wrote:Thinking of a good keyboard set up for a buc just makes my head hurt. About people comparing them to Bandits... they're not even in the same ballpark. Especially in the 3rd job. : O Anyways, good luck. .....I blame you people for this, but I'm making a Pirate - Kirov - 2008-12-10 ShiKage Wrote:Lol! I was going to ask if in 4th job after getting super transform you still use regular, considering at higher levels Dragon Strike does more %. I dont see it on your keyboard, so i am guessing you dont. O_o... Dragon Strike is on my 'A' key. In fact, I train in regular form 90% of the time. I'm only merely testing Super Transform right now. .....I blame you people for this, but I'm making a Pirate - Kirov - 2008-12-10 He means transform isn't there, not dragon strike. Since that is better than transform + shockwave. .....I blame you people for this, but I'm making a Pirate - Link - 2008-12-10 My transform is there, too. O_o -lost- lol... If he means the first Transform, that skill is useless where I train. It leaves you wide open to attacks, since there are no invulnerability frames for Shockwave. It's only good at flat maps such as Encounter With the Buddha, the Magatia map, FoG, etc. .....I blame you people for this, but I'm making a Pirate - Kirov - 2008-12-10 Yeah he means the 3rd job transform. |
