I'm looking for an item that drops from mobs too low for me to get equips from. If I party with someone around their level, and stay in the map, will equips still not drop? Or will equips drop if they kill the mob?

Partying makes no difference; If you kill the low level mobs, they will drop nothing. If the other party member is within the range of the mobs and he hits/kills them, they will drop their respective drops.
