I just had a conversation with a friend on MSN, we kinda talked about drinking and he told me he's been drinking every since he's in jr. high school (back when he was in China) When he moved here, he's almost 18 so he just continued to drink like once every few days. (now he's already 19)
I'm kinda shocked that he drinks. He's one of the few ppl who's actually smarter than me (by smart i mean like mentally smart, not by higher marks, cause half of my friends have higher marks than me and is stupider than me, anyways he's still getting a 98% avg this year) He's a very mature and organized person, and one of the only person that I can chat for hours on MSN without getting off topic to porn or some other shits...
He said alcohol is not bad for you, infact it's good for your health. Now i'm confused every since i'm a kid I'm being told that alcohol will make you stupider. I remember in health class we learned about how alcohol is bad for you. (not that I paid attention >.>)
Anyways is alcohol really bad for you? and just as much as I'm shocked about him drinking, he is shocked at me for being 17 and still haven't drink.
and also i'm wondering if u guys drink (especially if ur under age)
i wanna make sure that i'm with the majority here....
He also said that the reason you never talk about drinking in school is because you don't want the teachers to know....

I don't drink and I don't ever plan to drink. Mainly because when I was about 11 or 12, my cousin mixed in some wine with my drink when I wasn't looking. I took a sip from it, my cheeks reddened and I felt nauseous for about half an hour.

I don't drink. I'm 17. I think my relatives had a big influence on that, mostly because they get pomegranate faced and say stupid things after just a few beers. I'm not sure if he was talking overall, but usually its only Red Wine that's considered "healthy", because of the grapes, not the fact that its an alcoholic beverage, IIRC (correct me if I'm wrong, I don't pay attention to it much). Everything in moderation of course. Being a heavy drinker definitely won't be good for your health.

Customer: If you have too much of it, it's bad. If you have too few, it can be good though.
Point? Very little alcohol consumption = good? Lol. Some people said it was good for uhh.. shiiit, I forgot.. something about blood circulation, or some shiit. But I drink alcohol on weekends, like once a month, so lol.

Googling will probably get you better results, but here's what I know.
Low alcohol consumption can have some minor health benefits. By low I mean a single drink every day or so. Alcohol can provide relief and relaxation to adults suffering from stress. It can also reduce the risk of a type of stroke.
Most of the side effects of drinking aren't so good though. But these side effects come from drinking way too much, and doing it repeatedly.
So in short, don't over do it and you'll be alright.

I think countries that drink a lot of wine have less heart issues, so in moderaton wine can be good. Haven't looked much into it though, so iunno.
Everything's good for you in a certain ammount. As for alchohol, is it a drink a decade or a drink a day? D:

Red wine is supposed to be good for you, in moderation. Beer doesn't seem to have these effects in any amount, small or large, but as long as he doesn't binge, it should be fine.
The limits in the United States in regards to drinking are rather conservative in comparision with those from other places like Western Europe (Spain, in particular). Drinking is part of the mainstream culture (not just college lifestyle) there.

If you assume people lie, no poll is valid. Unless you actually know the rate at which people lie, and how would you measure that if they can lie?

out of ~ 20 ppl i asked, 6 are over 18, 5 drinks.
and then there are 3 ppl who said that they drink, but by the way they said it they are not serious...
if u count that in: still 11:3
but I really feel like i want to drink now, to be on par with that guy's smartness...
I mean i feel like i wanna try it cause there's no harm, gr 9 health class is a lie...

well u never know, I learn different stuff though difference experience, emotion, moods and stuff. and i can think differently in another mood. so when I know I can think that way in that mood, i'll just try to be in that mood and think that way.... lol sounds wierd but....
