Victoria's Secret Elf Model!! - Miek - 2012-11-22 I haven't watched the past 4 vickie secret shows... but doesn't mean I enjoy a lass in steel-blue-titanium epaulet + wings! (yes those are elf ears!)
Victoria's Secret Elf Model!! - ShinkuDragon - 2012-11-22 her left shoulder seems wrong, like you didn't switch colors. and i feel the legs are waay too long. i got a weird feeling about the ears but i know that's where they're supposed to be. other than that, it looks as good as always love how "wing"-ey the wings look, even though they're not really defined, i still don't know how you do that. Oh shoot! you're right, lol! the colours are off now that I look at it . It's weird I tried my hardest to edit myself and refine this time so I catch any mistakes, I don't like... but there's always that one time I forget! (I feel like I say this all the time haha, but im colourblind btw)ShinkuDragon Wrote:and i feel the legs are waay too long. Yah they may seem like that, but it's actually pretty proportionate in check with her head, (average female head count is 7.5, where as 8 is "ideal") her head count is actually pretty close to right around 7 heads (to the heel). So basically she's actually shorter if we're talking proportion wise, in relations to her head. but from a stylistic point, her torso is really diminished, which was intentional ![]() ShinkuDragon Wrote:i got a weird feeling about the ears but i know that's where they're supposed to be. I agree lol, I should change the tone more to her flesh! (I can kind of tell it's off)! im just lazy ;_; ShinkuDragon Wrote:other than that, it looks as good as always love how "wing"-ey the wings look, even though they're not really defined, i still don't know how you do that. thanks! It take's a lot of layering! (mixing defined strokes with loose strokes!)
Victoria's Secret Elf Model!! - Curtiss - 2012-11-22 About the legs, I'd say that it is too long when compared to the head and torso. I tried using the RL model as comparison; the RL model's legs was approximately 3x longer than the head while yours was about 3.5 - 4 which is why it looks too long; similarly, the head + torso for the RL model compared to legs was about 1:1 while it's about 1: > 1 for yours. I do find your style amazing and I agree with stylistic choices but I thought I'd post my own observations as to why it might look off despite your measurements above. So basically she's actually shorter if we're talking proportion wise, in relations to her head. Note that Shinku didn't say she was too tall. He said her legs are too long. On my screen, the human's inseam is 7.2cm, and the drawing's is 8.5cm. That's 18% longer than an actual supermodel, which already has longer legs than people are used to seeing on the women around them. Quote:but from a stylistic point, her torso is really diminished, which was intentional Yes, well, diminishing the torso lengthens the legs. Especially in relation to said torso. However, that is your style. All the women you draw have these proportions. And people seem to like them that way. At least this one is an elf, so she's not required to have human proportions. And the hips aren't as exaggerated as you usually draw them. |
