Finding the generator(s) in a group. - MariettaRC - 2012-11-14 I'm mostly asking this out of laziness because I know how to do this and it's easy... it's just horrendously tedious when I'm doing this with no real calculator other than the Windows calculator on hand. And I'm on a laptop. So you have a group Zp, where p is equal to a number and you must find which elements of that group are a generator. Is there a group generator calculator anywhere or at least a much less time-consuming way of finding the generator without having to go through EVERY number and EVERY exponent, because my professor decided to go with p=19 and that's 18 exponents for 17 numbers (not counting 1 because that's never a generator) to go through. :I All I wanna know is what all the generators are. :c |
