Looks like he's spamming expedition chat packet. I assume you're not in the same expedition and Maple just thinks the incoming messages are from him? What if you block expedition chat?

I recall with the whisper spam that even if you blocked whispers, it would still lag you. some people even said it made it the lag worse but I never really could gauge the difference between super laggy and severely laggy. I didn't get a chance to block expedition chat so I can't confirm whether it would block it out completely; but I'd assume since the packet is still being sent to your character, you'd still be laggy.

the amusing thing is, even though the exped spam didn't DC me, while trying to transfer the spot over to my mule on the laptop beside me (this has always worked up until now), the spot got auto sniped anyway.

these attacks or attempts to dc people via spam can be easily thwarted with a strong connection and fast computer
some of us don't have that luxury, but its a suggestion

If a packet (the message) is spammed at 5 milliseconds (or less), how do you think you can avoid this?

I wish I could show you the effects of this easily, the only way I can try to re-create it is in cisco ios using ping.
