How much has this changed the game?
Edit: Unfortunately, familiars currently with 3 orbs can't be upgraded to permanent until they expire.
Edit2: Is it still possible to rename familiars if they never expire?

The familiars obtained before the update still tick down in time limit and cannot be re-registered until time runs out. Oh well, guess I'll have to get 3 Big Spider Familiars...
Re-registered the expired Slime on my character and I can confirm it's indeed permanent this time. But the number of orbs went down to 1 as usual.

If there's less than 3 orbs, you can use the familiar and it'll add an orb + make it perm.
If you have 3 orbs, you have to wait until it expires... then you can add it back to get 1 orb :/.

I managed to get a Gold Yeti & Pepe on my Jett, glad I didn't use it. I'm not really sure how much the effects are, but the hp and mp regen I guess is nice.

Nothing gives EXP, the wolf in question gives 2X Drop. Someone around here has the card and posted a picture of it, I think it might be in either the CS or Patch Notices.
