We'll be performing a scheduled game update on May 10, 2012 for v.110 - Lucky 7th Mapleversary. The maintenance will last approximately twelve hours.

Thursday, May 10, 2012
Pacific: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Eastern: 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM


- What will be unavailable -


  • All MapleStory game servers will be unavailable.
  • Name changes and world transfers will not be processed.
  • Billing system and website login will be unavailable from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM Pacific.
    - Changes and Updates

    • The Lucky 7th Mapleversary update will be added.
    • The Alliance Eternal events will end.
    • Limited-time Legends character creation will be available for all accounts.
    • 7th anniversary events and equips are added.
    • New medals are available.
    • Socket and Nebulite system is revamped.
    • The Echo Megaphone board has been removed.
    • Sharing Tags can now be used on Royal Elven Tiaras.
    • New - May Gachapon Update: Gachapon Grand Prize - Golden Almighty Ring, Chair King: Pearl Shell Chair, New Unlucky Buddy Mount, and Limited Time Maple-Themed Gear
    • Ending - April Gachapon Update: Gachapon Grand Prize - Alliance Eternal Pendant, Chair King: Reading Chair, New Crimson Nightmare Mount, Limited Time Crimson Maple Cape and Scrolls
    • New - Cash Shop Specials: B-Day Surprises, Nebulite Gachapon Ticket, 2x EXP Coupons, and Permanent Legends Character packages
    • Ongoing - Cash Shop Specials: Surprise Style Box, All Stars Hair Coupon, Vega's Spell
    • Ending - Cash Shop Specials: Miracle Cube and Potential Lock Package, Mount Gachapon Ticket, Wheel of Marvels, and 2x EXP Quest Booster

    - Fixes

    • (Quest: Piercing Defenses) Official Knight A now drops the Cygnus Knight Emblem.
    • Zeno spawns in Kulan Field V.
    • Deo spawns in Dry Desert.
    • Timer spawns in Lost Time .
    • D.Roy spawns in Lab - Area C-3.
    • A fix has been applied to the Ghost Stump spawns in Gusty Peak.
    • A fix has been applied to the Yeti and Pepe spawns in Sharp Cliff 3.
    • (Quest: Exchanging Greetings with Mar the Fairy) The quest requirement has been changed to one Apple instead of the unavailable Dry Treat item.
    • (Quest: Meet Hiver 2) Cart Bears now drop Bear Meat.
    • Typos for Cannoneer skills in the tooltips for certain growth equipment have been fixed.
    • The "Cat Hoot" Cash hat is now correctly named "Cat Hood."
    • The Tiny Black Swimshorts are now correctly named.

Why 12 hours? I don't see any actual work besides the usual shut down servers, place code, turn on server routine.
The billing maintenance is also probably done by a different team, so it's not like it would effect the Maple team.

Game doesn't need to be up if Billing is Down. You're not spending money, they don't need to keep it up unnecessarily.

Hey man, they are just following company protocol.

Hours 1-3: Dedicated to coffee mass production and handing out.
Hour 4: Patch implementation
Hour 5: Realization that they screwed something up.
Hours 6-12: Scream into the phone at the KMS team while they set the office on fire.
