Starting Out Fresh - mEanEst - 2008-11-17 So I'm starting out fresh with about 1.5B (Perhaps more if the Chaos Scrolls continue to go up...) and concluded with these following classes below: -Bandit -Fighter -Page -Spearman -I/L Mage -F/P Mage -Cleric Yeah, I know the list is a lot, but you can pick one in the polls. If you guys can also give me the reason why, since I'm starting out fresh. It's been over 3 months since I've played, so I need some people who have played and can gimme their insights of the games since then. Thanks! Starting Out Fresh - Corn - 2008-11-17 Well, you gotta give us your preferences and stuff XD. We're not going to blindly choose. And when I say preferences, I mean speed (both character and weapon speed) , damage (fast and puny or slow and powerful), whether you like to boss or not, mob/single monsters, etc. etc. Starting Out Fresh - mEanEst - 2008-11-17 ClawofBeta Wrote:Well, you gotta give us your preferences and stuff XD. I would like the Weapon's speed to be fast. Jesus, again, I could care less about the damage, as long as it is fast. Mobs would be nice, but not necessary. And I would like to boss, but it is not necessary. Starting Out Fresh - Corn - 2008-11-17 Wah....you're so neutral on everything XD. Eh, I'd suppose a sin would be the best, but since you're so neutral on everything I would have to split it more. How would you like your range? Far? Medium? Close? Medium-far? Do you hate doing low damage at close range? Do you like having to watch low hp? Do you like avoidability? How about MP? And mesoes? Do you care about being poor? Rich? Etc. etc. XD Starting Out Fresh - Kevo - 2008-11-17 mEanEst Wrote:My sincere apologies Bandits have fast attack speed, but aren't really needed at bosses except for Sed Mule. Definitely don't go Magician since in 4th Job, they train with Ultimates which are the slowest skills. Also, only a Bishop is valued at bosses. Pages aren't common at bosses. Heroes are valued since at Horntail they are the strongest Melee class and Dark Knights are needed for HB. I'd say warrior's attacking speed would be medium, but can be improved with 1h swords such as Lunch Box, Red Katana, etc. In my opinion, you should go Fighter using 1h sword. Heroes have fast attacks, Brandish which can hit multiple monsters, and are needed at Bosses which satisfy your criteria. Starting Out Fresh - jikos - 2008-11-17 Spearman for sure. If you like to be godly/show off, (judging by how you told us your amount of funding i assume you do) you're going to have to choose between spearman, bandit, and f/p mage. I am considering making a spearman Starting Out Fresh - FinalHeart - 2008-11-17 Kevo Wrote:Bandits have fast attack speed, but aren't really needed at bosses except for Sed Mule.Since when did ME become useless at bosses? Have I missed some thing? Best mobbers are I/L Wizards. Lightning kicks ass. Best speed goes to Assassins, because they have haste and get flash jump in 3rd job. Fast attacking is bandits. Fast daggers+booster=faster daggers. Starting Out Fresh - Kevo - 2008-11-17 FinalHeart Wrote:Since when did ME become useless at bosses? Have I missed some thing? Well for Zakum in particular, Mesos Explosion became useless after the release of Onyx Apples about 1.5 years ago? With the release of 4th Job, Mesos Explosion is never needed for any Bosses. In Horntail, I rarely see Shadowers in an attacking party. And half the time, Horntail is doing the moving for them , and then the Shadower walks back to hang on the rope. Not to mention, Mesos Guard burns your mesos with no compensation and I'd guess that Shadowers are also the biggest Safety Charm burners at Horntail =p.
Starting Out Fresh - mEanEst - 2008-11-17 Anyone else? Starting Out Fresh - Dyxanije - 2008-11-17 mEanEst Wrote:Anyone else? I would say try them all but if you are short on time, watch a video or two of each class training and go from there. Starting Out Fresh - JakeAndBake - 2008-11-17 Your play style suggests gunslinger, but after reading the options, I guess you aren't into pirates
Starting Out Fresh - Hatsu - 2008-11-17 I would out of my own preference recommend that you try making a shadower, but according to everyone else who base their opinions on WAAY too many things that happen inside the game rather than what you would call 'fun' the best choice meeting your preferences are probably spearman(not very powerful in 4th job though) or a fighter(decent 4th job damage). I could care less to play the warrior classes because it seems like the style has no sense of risk or chance, just as straight forward as the maple economy and high demand these days.

Starting Out Fresh - Russt - 2008-11-18 Kevo Wrote:Not to mention, Mesos Guard burns your mesos with no compensationCommon misconception... You take 1000 damage, you spend 1000 mesos in pots. You take 500 damage and -300 mesos, you spend 500 in pots. Total spending 800, which is less than 1000. With the funding you have you can make anything, as I am sure you know. The one class I have yet to try is the Bandit, with what you have stated, this would be my suggestion. They are wickedly fast and can nearly hold to my crusader at the same level. I am not certain of their hp so damage may be an issue. I will tell you the reason for not trying a dit, I am afraid I will like it better than my sader and I have so much invested in her; it has taken me just over a year to get her to 85. Starting Out Fresh - nycsad - 2008-11-19 stick with what you feel comfortable with, no use jumping in a class blindly. and if you do make that jump, do your resarch first. hope this helped |
