G+ - みもと - 2011-12-18 Google+. Do you use it? I'm just wondering, since I've been using G+ like a newsfeed. Gives me less reasons to look up stuff from news sites, if I add the right people to my circles. As of lately, I'm rather addicted to G+ because of it's features. It informs me of when people adds me to their circles, but they can only see content that I'm allowing them to see. Then I also have the option of adding people to specific circles that lets them see content that I wouldn't let everyone else see, etc. I just feel like I have a better grasp of control than most social networking websites out there. It also has no limitation on content, in that I can type as much as I want when I want to share content. There's also a neat "Expand" function when I want to see a shared content, so it doesn't clog up my newsfeed. I use it differently than how I would use FaceBook, because that's more for personal friends. I'm just wondering if any of you guys have been using it at all, since I've been hearing more and more things about G+ as of late. G+ - Elven Emily - 2011-12-18 Yes, because all of my school friends used to use Google Buzz and it got shut down. G+ - Jon - 2011-12-18 No, but I'd love to have a reason to use it more. G+ - Worthyness - 2011-12-18 Everyone I know uses Facebook except for the techie peeps that I know who always seems to get a beta key for some high profile game or another... I tried to do a FB/G+ integration, but gave up after it stopped working for me. Too lazy to update. G+ - Kalovale - 2011-12-19 It's quite good for tech news, actually. Maybe I'm biased because this is the first time I tried following news sources on social network sites, but I find it pleasant regardless. Maybe I'm biased because this is the first time I tried following news sources on social network sites, but I find it pleasant regardless. That's exactly it. If you're looking specific type of informative news, G+ is the way to go. I've been using it along with Twitter, and I haven't missed anything that's important and relevant to my interests. G+ - Devil - 2011-12-19 I don't use social media garbage, I only use anti-social media, that's why I'm at southperry.net! G+ - Spaz - 2011-12-19 I use it for Dart news, following some tech people, and interacting with coworkers because the privacy controls are easier to use. I still use facebook too. I see Google+ as kind of the "elite" version of facebook. G+ - Jedward - 2011-12-19 Jon Wrote:No, but I'd love to have a reason to use it more. G+ - Loose - 2011-12-28 I don't use it as much as I would like to. G+ - chrome - 2011-12-28 Now this thread has me curious. How does it help at delivering news? I've been manually going over news sites, but if I can bundle all of this stuff into one thing then that would be great. G+ - みもと - 2011-12-28 chrome Wrote:Now this thread has me curious. As an example, because my interests are mostly technology related, I follow people that are editors for specific websites and what-not. They'll usually post it on G+ as soon as it's up, and I'll get to see the content really quick. It's literally using it as a feed, similar to how people will follow cnet on Twitter, etc. |
