100 DF would be all you need, and you get twice as that. There is no need for more than 200 DF.

Odd, so wouldn't that make Empathy entirely useless to them o.o'' cause that just seems weird.
(or does it increase some secondary stat that I can't remember?)

Empathy also increases quest exp.
