Victoria Island revamp - Nepi - 2011-12-02 Can anyone give a summary of the most notable quest changes with the Legends patch? Mostly wondering about quests with fame/personality trait/scroll rewards, whether it would be better to finish them now on a new character or wait until the patch.

If I recall correctly, they completely redo the Victoria Island questline, and they also revamp the monsters and quests in Mushroom Kingdom/Chryse/Kerning Square. Well as long as they keep the medal I don't think there's anything to lose... They changed several of the boss quests to not give fame anymore from what I've seen on Leafre.net, I think it's better to finish those now along with JQ's for the delicious fame. >.< Victoria Island revamp - Thorr - 2011-12-04 Nepi Wrote:Aah, those too? Well as long as they keep the medal I don't think there's anything to lose... The quest re-org is rather interesting. They definitely rope you into an area and keep you there for a whole line of quests. For example, the old WANTED quests are different. You now do them in sequential order. All the WANTED signs have changed. First you find the Orange Mushroom WANTED sign, kill 30 orange mushrooms, then turn the quest into Power B Fore (instead of the Rememberer like before). Once that is complete, the WANTED sign for Green Mushrooms becomes active. The sequence (iirc) is Orange - Green - Horny - Blue - Mushmom - Zombie Mushmom. Another thing about the quest organization is that each area has a quest line that is job-specific (similar to the old Episode 1 story line). Some of the old quests that were open to everyone have been rolled up into the job quest lines. (For example, collecting Plant Sample for Betty in Ellinia is now part fo the Mercedes story line instead of being public.) I am going to test it for posterity, but the quest line that you get through the Nautilus area as a Cannoneer is probably not specific to the Cannoneer. I believe that all pirates get it. I will be testing it shortly to see if my job-quest line theory is true. (EDIT: It is true. Each job category has a hand-holding quest line that takes you nearly to level 30. I made a gunslinger and it was identical to the Cannoneer.) In any event, each of the 5 job-based towns have a quest series to do. It's similar in style to the Keeny quest line we've always had in Kerning City. As far as Map changes, the whole of the Nautilus area is changed. The interior of the Nautilus is one big map now instead of 3 separate ones. Many of the NPCs have spread out to other maps. You can now walk directly to Florina beach. (Pison and Pason exist still, but they no longer function) The mobs in that area are no longer mixed. Every map has pure spawn. There are no more Lupins in Florina Beach, for example. The Pig maps no longer have Pigs and Ribbon Pigs intermingled. Victoria Island revamp - Nepi - 2011-12-04 Thorr Wrote:The quest re-org is rather interesting. More importantly, do any of the new quests have upper-level limits? I don't want to lost my chance of getting the Quest Specialist.
Victoria Island revamp - PirateIzzy - 2011-12-04 One problem : in Tespia the quest where you have to feed baby cows and collect milk from mother cows (part of Nautilus quests for Cannoneer) is glitched, causing you to dc upon entering the Stable. I did this quest without incident about 20 hours ago. How does that work @_@ Victoria Island revamp - PirateIzzy - 2011-12-04 Onion Knight Wrote:Is it? Victoria Island revamp - Elven Emily - 2011-12-04 I can confirm the job theory. The quests start in that classes main town, e.g. Warriors in Perion, Mages in Ellinia, Archers in Henesys, Theives in Kerning, and Pirates in Nautilus. Victoria Island revamp - HighOnMushrooms - 2011-12-04 All classes can do all the quests, you just have to start the chain by talking to each first job advancer ![]() I know because I did all of them for the Quest Specialist medal! (no level limit) Victoria Island revamp - Nepi - 2011-12-05 HighOnMushrooms Wrote:All classes can do all the quests, you just have to start the chain by talking to each first job advancerAwesome, thanks! ^^ Victoria Island revamp - Thorr - 2011-12-05 HighOnMushrooms Wrote:All classes can do all the quests, you just have to start the chain by talking to each first job advancer That wold explain why they rolled up some of the old quests into those loops. Unfortunately, the rewards still suck. |
