RE: How Mirror Image Works (In progress) - Blades4hire - 2011-11-21 Hey guys, im here to find out the answer to the much asked question: How does Mirror Image actually work? It is known that the damage multipliers stack with mirror image(0.7x), but there are a few unexplained occurances. Without further ado, here are the calculations.
Formulas
Weapon used
With only weapon multipliers(30% boss, 6% total)
With only weapon multipliers(30% boss, 6% total) and Dark sight(1.1x)
Here's where it gets wierd.
With Final Cut(1.4x), and weapon multipliers(1.36x)
With Final Cut(1.4x), wep multipliers(1.36x), and dark sight(1.1x)
While we are expecting multipliers of 1.904 and 2.12, we actually get 2.311 and 2.54 respectively2.311/1.904 and 2.54/2.12 both give ~1.18-1.19, meaning there is an unexplained 1.18-1.19x damage multiplier. This multiplier only appears on final cut, which leads me to conclude that final cut gives us a multiplier in addition to the 1.4x it says it does. I already sold my 30% boss katara, so i cant test this with 60% boss. If any dual blade with 60% boss would like to take some damage screens for me, let me know. RE: How Mirror Image Works (In progress) - MoldyBunny - 2011-11-21 final cut is 1.7x RE: How Mirror Image Works (In progress) - Blades4hire - 2011-11-21 Yes, 1.4*1.2=1.7x multiplier, but the question is why it gives this extra multiplier in the first place. I'll test whether the 1.7x applies to non mirror image hits as well tommorow morning. RE: How Mirror Image Works (In progress) - Locked - 2011-11-21 Sup. In two weeks this will be useless. RE: How Mirror Image Works (In progress) - Blades4hire - 2011-11-21 Yea, I'm honestly surprised that no one has tested this in the months since chaos. RE: How Mirror Image Works (In progress) - ShinkuDragon - 2011-11-22 Blades4hire Wrote:Yea, I'm honestly surprised that no one has tested this in the months since chaos.i'm sure MSea and/or EMS will like to know anyways. RE: How Mirror Image Works (In progress) - Blades4hire - 2011-11-22 Damage Formula: [((Damage Range*Skill%)*Critical)*((1-PDRate)+(PDrate*ignore def))]*DamageInc For testing purposes i made my range as close to 30k as possible(21019-30027), 20% ignore pdr(from PB), and skill dmg is 105% [((30027*1.05)*1.5)*(0.8)]*1.4*1.3*1.06 ~72,890 So, if i see a hit of more than 73k on a non mirror image, critical hit of PB, i can conclude that Final Cut adds more than 40% damage. Testing now. EDIT: After nearly 100 Phantom blows, i have failed to see a hit over this number, (highest i saw was a 71k) This leads me to conclude that Final Cut works normally on normal hits, but grants a 1.7x multiplier to mirror image hits. RE: How Mirror Image Works (In progress) - ShadyPriest - 2011-11-23 ... Final Cut is simply 1.7x (for some reason). Including non-MI hits.
Spoiler
RE: How Mirror Image Works (In progress) - Blades4hire - 2011-11-24 Hm, wondering why I didn't get the same result. Extreme unluckiness? I'll test it further I guess. RE: How Mirror Image Works (In progress) - ShadyPriest - 2011-12-10 Just an update (Legends patch).
Spoiler
Final Cut itself remains unchanged, in that it's still 1.7x.What really changed is Mirror Image (it's not silly/stupid anymore). MI is always 0.7x. Potential damage % isn't applied twice, and Final Cut MI hits are no longer 1.19x (0.7 * 1.7 = 1.19). |
