November 16 - November 30

The Cannoneer's legendary moment is almost here! Support this pirate and his trusty monkey in their quest for fame and glory by "Liking" the MapleStory Facebook page!

If the MapleStory Facebook page reaches 700,000 Likes by November 30, we will host an 8-hour 2x EXP and drop weekend on December 3 and 4 to get your characters ready to welcome the Cannoneer to Maple World. As a bonus,you will also be able receive an exclusive decorative item if you reach level 10 as a Cannoneer by December 9.

-Goals-
MapleStory Facebook page reaches 700,000 Likes by November 30.

-Reward-
8-hour 2x EXP and Drop event on the weekend of December 3 and 4.

Well, this pretty much seals Cannoneer release date as Dec 6th.

The 8 hours of 2x on the 3-4th of Dec are to "get your characters ready to welcome" Cannoneers, hence they will not exist yet.
But you need to get your cannoneer to level 10 by Dec 9th.

So we'll get a 2x event for characters that aren't our cannoneers and an "Exclusive" item that every single cannon shooter is going to have?

2x for non-cannoneers is welcome (well, as welcome as a laggy ks-fest ever is). Not everyone is going to ditch their current chars for a cannoneer.

As for the exclusive item - you won't get it if you don't rush to make a cannoneer right away.

i actually like the fact that it's 8 hours, not many have the willpower to eat through all that.

Laggy ks-fests aren't really all that fun. Give me personal 2x ala Hunter's Luck or something similar so I might have a chance to actually use the 2x I'm earning and I'll consider it.

And you're in denial if you think everyone and their grandmother isn't going to have the item. All you have to do is get a cannon shooter to lvl 10. I won't be rushing to make one and I'll still have it without even the slightest amount of effort.

It's only level 10 but you have to get around to creating the char in the first 3 days. Not everybody will.
I agree personal 2x is better but Nexon seems bound and determined to stress-test their servers and their players every weekend...
As for 8 hours - It will be 4 sessions of 2 hours each. We've had that before. Plenty of time to rest in between.
