Monster Familiar System Update

They back you up in the heat of battle and support you when youre under attack. Now were giving monster familiars a big boost that will make them even more helpful! Read on for the changes being applied to the monster familiar system on November 10.

Cards from monster drops:
  • The drop rate for familiar cards has been increased up to 10x for all levels of monsters.
  • Level 70+ monsters now drop cards.
  • Keep in mind while you're hunting that higher level monsters still have a lower chance of dropping as Familiar cards than lower level monsters.
Cards from Booster Packs:
  • The first card from a Booster Packs will still be common, the second will now have a 50/50 chance of being common or uncommon, and the third will have a 60% chance to be uncommon and a 40% chance to be rare.
  • Cards of level 70+ monsters are now available through Booster Packs.
Booster Packs can be purchased in the Game section under the Etc. tab in the Cash Shop. Double-click a card pack in your inventory to activate it.

A familiar card can be registered in your Crusader Codex double-clicking it. A familiar can be summoned through the Familiar tab in the Crusader Codex and is available for 30 days after registering it. Registering a second card from the same monster increases its duration to 60 days and increases its max vitality, and registering three cards from the same monster increases its duration to a max of 90 days and increases its max vitality to its limit.

I have never understood why Nexon does this with all drops as well...makes no sense at all. All it does is annoy high level people.

Wait. So it was.. intentional?!? People bought those before, too, thinking they could get them. Tongue

Nice marketing system Nexon.

inb4 "We never said you could get them before! Buy NX today!"

After seeing a couple high level familiars in action tonight, I can totally understand why they're low drop.

thought he meant that it was a limited feature. Cause sidekick is not perma

Monster Familiar System Update - Flonne - 2011-11-11

Not worth farming star and above until they are permanent, just wasted 9 hours in himes and didn't get a single card. I'm not gonna do that once a month, screw that. :l

Monster Familiar System Update - Razmos - 2011-11-11

Meh, the drop rate really starts to suck for any enemies level 20+ and gets steadily worse from there, i can't even imagine farming for enemies level 90+, wow.

Yeah, I'm positive they didn't implement >The drop rate for familiar cards has been increased up to 10x for all levels of monsters. At least not on anything above a common quality card.

In JMS the familiars stay with you forever once you loot a card. In gms we get expiring familiars. Yeah, I don't care for them at all while they have any time limit that isn't "forever"

Monster Familiar System Update - aslemn - 2011-11-11

They said they "Updated" the system, and fixed some things. But their most stupid and ridiculous decision was kept, making those monsters expire.
They even mention in their post about higher level players hunting low level familiars. But i have to ask myself, WHY would a higher level player spend hours hunting a familiar from a low level monster if it'll go away in a month?

And what about Rare and Legendary cards? That take FOREVER to get, like the Papulatus clock card, and when you finally get it after MANY TRIES you'll lose it?
It STILL MAKES NO SENSE. They're totally unable to see such thing that is only based on COMMON SENSE, they only need to THINK.

Why is it so hard not to ruin a system that was good originally? Just leave it as it was before, P-E-R-M-A-N-E-N-T.

Monster Familiar System Update - Liteness - 2011-11-11

guys lets just keep complaining, our complaining obviously made nexon have 70+ mobs drop card Big Grin L>permanent

Monster Familiar System Update - Chameleonic - 2011-11-12

I still dont get how Familiars work, I keep getting the message that I cant re-summon them cause they dont have full vitality or something. :f6:

Monster Familiar System Update - MrFry - 2011-11-12

The red circle above their head slowly lowers, it isnt as noticeable at first but thats the vitality, when it is below half you have to wait to resummon it a few minutes.

Because Nexon wants to make money off it.
Seriously Nexon. If I wanted expiring shet, I'd buy NX clothes.

Monster Familiar System Update - LegendGospel - 2011-11-12

Yet how are they making money off this? Booster packs for expiring cards? I'm sure more people would be encouraged to buy Booster packs if they gave permanent cards. Also making the droppable cards permanent wouldn't affect their profits, as lazy people/NXhoars would still just take the easy route anyway, buying from the CS, as opposed to hunting the cards.

I agree that making the familiars expire makes really forgetful an otherwise awesome addition to the game.

I only buy perm items regardless. The only item in the entire CS I would be willing to buy that isn't is the 30 day hyper tele...

I would buy booster packs if familiars were perma. Maybe.
I just spent 21 hours farming a hime card before I finally got one, and I'm not activating it until they make familiars permanent. Which I have a feeling will be soon, based on the amount of people still pissed off.

Monster Familiar System Update - Zelkova - 2011-11-12

Its a shame that they did not follow JMS and make the cards perma.
