Magnet Schools - Elven Emily - 2011-10-28
Anybody else in an academic or art magnet school? I'm in an academic one, so some classes that other middle schools don't have are
6th: Pre-Algebra (I believe they stopped it this year, but I was in it when they did do it)
7th: Algebra (I would be in it if I passed the Algebra readiness and Iowa test)
8th: Geometry, Physical Science
I'm not sure if Physical Science is the only one, but some of our classes give college credits and if we get 85+ and Proficient/Advanced on our standardized test in the 2nd semester of 7th grade, we automatically go to our magnet high school (one of the top 100 schools in the country).
Magnet Schools - Mibs - 2011-10-28
My middle school (7th and 8th grade) wasn't a magnet school, but it had those classes. It also had Algebra 2 / Trig. I did well in all of them, but no college credit or shortcuts to high school.
