An idea in progress - Zepherium - 2011-10-16 Basically. I'm rolling out a website in a couple of days and I got some questions and possible requests for the community. The main idea is a Maplestory Hunting website. Most guides these days are outdated and the only way to find newer ones is to add "big bang" when googling to maximize the chances of finding a useful one. But if you're like me you just might need a simple way to input your class, level and funding and whoosh! have a list of the best places for you to hunt. Nifty no? Anyhow, in terms of requests I'd love a simple name for the website. I was looking for Leafre but since the .net belongs to the korean community I'd hate to cause any confusion between .com/.net so that's not possible sadly. But! I have a lot of questions, 1. What inputfields should I have when searching? Once I start adding data I'd be annoyed having to go through everything just because I forgot an important field. Right now I'm thinking of having just level, class and funding. Might also add some sort of 'intent-field' where you can choose if you want to earn mesos or pure exp gain. Am I forgetting something? 2. Should I integrate a usersystem to let people (appointed of course) manage guides on classes? This way all classguides would be gathered and updated regulary (hopefully). 3. Anyone who's interested in filling the database together with me? I'm an mage myself so I can most likely handle that area with ease but I have absolutely no idea on other classes where they hunt. Of course you'll get some perks like acknowledgement and possible ad income (All I need is for the server which is already full paid but about $5 USD/month, rest I'd rather give out to everyone helping out). Quick info: Design (80% complete) Coding (50% complete) RIght now I'm just waiting for the final verdict on everything but once I got it I'll roll the website out within a day or two. Any other ideas, tips or questions - feel free to ask! An idea in progress - Ketchup - 2011-10-16 I'm new here but I'd be glad to help! I can give some info on Pirates and Thieves training spots. It's a great idea but IMO with the current state of maple everything is: monsters around beginning town -> Mush Kingdom -> NLC Withces/Jesters -> mp3 -> LHC An idea in progress - Zepherium - 2011-10-16 In one way, yes. But from level 1 to 150 I did so many different places. Triple Rumos, Homunculus, mp3 etc. So there's a lot of places to come by, especially now with the new system (amount of exp = level range of monster). And for many, LHC isn't possible nor profitable until level 120+ and quite frankly, sometimes you just need a change of scenery. An idea in progress - Ketchup - 2011-10-16 ah yes i know what you mean well i'd still be glad to help! An idea in progress - MuscleWizard - 2011-10-16 one good tip is that starting out, go directly to mix golems once you get your first job advancement if you're funded (eg: 10att wg, able to buy potions) its what i did, and i got through 1-30 in about an hour and a half An idea in progress - Zepherium - 2011-10-16 I did the same on my Evan. Which is exactly the point, there's a lot of hidden places with great exp gains. Getting more ideas adding %/hr (User input ofc).. gotta cram it all together without making it messy but instead slick and clean. I'm probably going to need roughly 1 experienced person per class so at least 6-7 people working on it other than me. An idea in progress - Veneni - 2011-10-16 Lvl class and funding as in range would allow you to calculate the average amounts of hits needed to kill the mob. Divide by exp (or the other way around for exp/hit) and you have a good means of telling of how good the monster is to train on. Maybe tweak abit for "mobbyness" giving maps with large spawn a better score and that'll be all you need. I think this would be a very good idea for a well balanced game. Unfortunately, for maple, the same mobs are going to come out everytime: Like jesters and that other lvl 50 mob in the haunted house, and LHC crockies for 110+ :^/ |
