DDR and ITG player reporting in.

DDR/ITG (mostly ITG) player here as well.

Dance Games - Dark Link - 2011-08-25

Dance Games - Netto - 2011-08-25

DDR =3

Dance Games - Spaz - 2011-08-25

Pad stepmania player here.

Dance Games - Hakurei - 2011-08-25

DDR player mostly, but I just started playing ITG recently

Dance Games - Fimbulvetr - 2011-08-27

Oh wow! Didn't expect this many responses (especially from ITG players since I haven't met a single one in 5 years on maple); I actually posted a thread like this on basil and didn't get a single response o___O.

Jw, where do you all play and how good are you? Any preferences on versions/songs? feel free to talk about whatever =)

Hard to say. The place I go to has both SuperNOVA and ITG 2. I usually do a warm-up routine on SuperNOVA (Can't Stop Falling in Love -Speed Mix-, Exotic Ethnic, Sakura) then branch out to either harder songs on SuperNOVA (sadly our machine doesn't have Fascination MAXX, Fascination ~eternal love mix~, Healing-D-Vision, or CHAOS unlocked) or ITG.

For ITG, I'll do any song in the ITG 1 folder but stay away from the ITG 2 folder because the songs are garbage (except for Bloodrush). :/

I play Para Para and have even won two competitions that revolve around it. ._.
Can't say I'm proud.

Nice that you have SN and an ITG dedicab =) Does your ITG machine have custom songs? And when I used to play Supernova I used to play CSFIL speed mix and sakura a lot myself haha.

And @ ITG2... hmm I haven't really played too many officials but I do know some stuff is crazyyyyyy for its difficulty level. I tried sightreading Soapy Bubble the other day and I got a 69%...wtp And songs like Determinator Expert are like o______O; like seriously 220 bpm streams for a 12?

But on the other hand I dont think all the ITG2 charts are bad; I know Tribal Style is really popular for ex.

And @ this thread; I noticed that you and at least one other person is into Touhou. Coincidentally I found out about Touhou after I played a few Touhou files on flashflashrevolution haha.

@GMSInfighter

Personally I don't know too much about para para but winning dance game tournaments is def awesome =) I wish I was good enough to even dare enter a competition lols

I play Stepmania actually, but I still call it "DDR" Rolleyes
I'm "Decent", I'm not a serious DDR fanatic so I can only play on "Standard" / "Medium" at best. Heavy is way out of my league.

That's cool I used to play flashflashrevolution/stepmania myself. Any songs you like in particular?

Yeah, our ITG machine has a USB port for custom songs. But then it's not as satisfying if my scores aren't public. :o

For ITG2, I have no problem with the charts, it's just I don't like any of their songs. Can't really do well on songs I don't want to play. xD Though, have you tried Bloodrush Expert? Insaaaaanely hard stepchart. Single/double crossover streams, spins, and hands galore.

Also, Touhou. Smile There's quite a few threads on here.

Its not hacked though? :/ I also don't like most of the songs either on ITG2; though I like Hardcore Symphony, Bloodrush, Monolith, and Energizer. But I suck at Energizer/Monolith and lol not passing Bloodrush anytime soon; I suck at crossovers and slowdowns.

Hmm, think I'll take a look at the Touhou threads later =) By the way, do you play Touhou files on ITG?

Dance Games - Tikey - 2011-08-27

Nah, our machine isn't hacked. Probably because there's camera in the arcade (the room is kind of small so the camera sees everything) so no one wants to get kicked out since it's the best arcade in our area. Confused

Touhou files... I do on Stepmania, but not on ITG. Confused

Dance Games - Fimbulvetr - 2011-08-27

Ah that's a shame; the manager should let people hack the machine for more profit & player satisfaction. At least you have the USB ports though =)

And did you know people make entire packs of Touhou songs for ITG?

Yeah, but I think the USB is good enough. I once played a hacked machine when I went up to Canada for vacation. There were so many songs on it that it slowed the entire machine down, so it was hard to get to a song I wanted to play. Confused

And I've come across a few Touhou pad packs while searching for Touhou keyboard packs a while back.

Dance Games - Spaz - 2011-08-27

I have the ITG and DDR packs for Stepmania. I play ITG files pretty often, but I gave up on DDR files because they tend to suck serious ass. So many double steps and charts that don't feel like they go well with the music. I warm up with 7s and 8s and move up to 10s (on the ITG scale). One of my favorite charts, as well as one that's near the limit of my stamina, is Mute's Pistolero.

Sadly, I seem to have reached my peak and have stopped getting better, so I'll probably never be able to do most 11s or anything higher.

Dance Games - Fimbulvetr - 2011-08-27

@Tikey Ah yeah that sounds pretty bad; Id rather have USB in that case. And lol yeah I was talking about the touhou pad packs lol. Havent tried em tho yet; gonna do that soon.

@Spaz, yeah some DDR charts are pretty bad. And is that your playing Pistolero? If so your FA is AMAZING; I can't FA for my life. I think I passed Delirium with a 68 or 58 once...

In regards to stamina I would try playing some streamy charts. For example, when I was trying to pass 12s I played MWOK's Uninstall (a long streamy 11) which helped me a lot.
