This past friday my mom went out on a date with this guy. Yeah, okay, whatever, that was my reaction when she told me, ya know? Then today we're both sitting on the couch on our laptops and she pulls up a video and says "okay, watch this pomegranate" and shows me an interview with Insomniac employees about Ratchet and Clank weapons. Then she randomly stops it on a guy who just started talking and says "that's the guy i went on a date with". I watched the video and read the article and it turns out he's the guy who programmed all the weapons in the series, as well as Resistance 1 & 2. He doesn't work there anymore though, he just moved to Texas about a year ago. Bummer right? Except now he's the CTO of pineappleING ZYNGA?
I'm trying to find the video online, it was about the Design a Weapon contest for Ratchet and Clank Future, but I'm having trouble, and I don't really want to ask my mom to send it to me lol. Here's a page on him at Giantbomb though: http://www.giantbomb.com/eric-christensen/72-93471/
What do southperry? I've never met the guy so I can't really be like "hey want to do an AMA on reddit?" (although it might end up happening if they start going out more, i might finally have a respectable amount of karma), but this isn't like a normal, every day thing for me, to find out my mom went on a date with the guy who had such a big part in games that i kinda grew up with.

I don't really know what to tell you on what to do (nothing, really it's just a really cool opportunity that your mom went on a date with him) but I do have to say this is f'ucking awesome. Ratchet and Clank is my favorite series ever.

They are actual people, you know. I'd be more interested in that fact that he could potentially be a person that would play videogames with me. I usually soloplay most MMOs because I don't like being around people I don't know in games, but when I get a friend to play with me, it's much more fun I have to admit. Having someone with the same interests closeby would be pretty cool.

haha for what it's worth it was definitely a joke.
it was definitely a trip though watching him on the video, hearing him talk about all the weapons and stuff and talking about why they didn't pick certain weapons and why they picked the one they did, because i spent so much time thinking about how awesome the weapons were while playing the game.
i'm definitely not going to know how to act if i ever meet the guy. "hey, hi how's it going, so was it your idea to call it the RYNO? because i thought that was pretty clever"
