How to Prevent Players DC-ing you in FM? - Lomelindel - 2011-08-18 I was able to snag a decent spot yesterday after the servers went back up in Channel 1, FM4. I use a regular store permit. A couple of odd things happened. Firstly, some guy came and just put in "@@@@" etc in the chat window of the store over and over again. He didn't buy anything. Secondly, two people were in the room and one of them said to the other "just watch, I'm going to dc her" or something like that. Overtime, more and more Mushroom stores took over the regular stores around me. I thought nothing of it and I went to bed. I woke up to find that I had disconnected from Maple. Now, my computer has pretty good specs and my internet connection's tends to be pretty stable. I can stay in Maple for days without disconnecting usually. I'm just wondering whether that was just a coincidential disconnection I had or whether someone was able to actually disconnect another player? It just seems a bit suspicious to me, especially since many of the mushroom stores in the room when I logged back in had the same shop name. How to Prevent Players DC-ing you in FM? - Locked - 2011-08-18 Mushies are iffy because it's hard to make back the profit for the cost of the mushy. Merchants just typically use mushy reset on their 1-day mushy anyway =/ How to Prevent Players DC-ing you in FM? - ShinkuDragon - 2011-08-18 Locked Wrote:Mushies are iffy because it's hard to make back the profit for the cost of the mushy. How to Prevent Players DC-ing you in FM? - Sorien - 2011-08-18 There are indeed methods of disconnecting other players, but they require the use of hacks. The person in your store was using an extremely primitive version of a DC hack that simply spams a message over and over until it eventually overloads your computer's memory. How to Prevent Players DC-ing you in FM? - Lomelindel - 2011-08-18 DC hacks? Well that's disappointing to hear. Like there isn't enough hacking as is. Thanks for the heads up.

Like there isn't enough hacking as is.It's been around forever and you most likely wont' get a ch1 spot on the bottom row of rooms because of it. I try to avoid it and stick to 7-2x if I decide to stay on ch1, or just start at ch2fm2 and work my way across till there's an open spot. Short of setting up your own "hacks" to counter it they'll get you at some point is the disappointing thing. |
