To be honest, I'd max MP Eater.
Poison Breath sucks.
Cold Beam is single-target = it sucks.
Holy Arrow is single-target and there is pretty much nothing in 2nd Job that's weak to Holy = it really really sucks.
So you really don't have any other choice.
Well, until Jump that is.

Since the monsters now have way more MP the skill didn't lose much of its usefulness (and actually gained quite a lot since we lost MP recovery and we don't have skills costing 7k MP).

MP Eater has always been useless at high levels... It's really only useful at low levels so you can be cheap and not have to use MP Pots.
Higher levels you're going to be taking damage anyway, so the minute amounts of MP it will actually 'eat' aren't noticeable since you'll be potting to stay alive.

mp eater not useful after chaos. i think is you better add slow. good when you pvp later. but then when jump poison breathe will much better.

I still think MP eater should be able to drain boss mp to 0% (and only give this skill to non-bishop magic classes)... but sadly it doesn't...
