So people told me you could trade in the coins by talking to murt, but when i talk to him, he just says something about it being cold.
Are there any prequests i need to finish before i can trade in coins?

Yes, you have to do the prequest that he gives you (or maybe it was another person? Don't think so though).
After that is done, you can trade him.
